So I guess if they go with an "older" actor the idea is to make the new Batman franchise something like Batman Beyond?

That could work and would be a totally new direction for the Batman film franchise but I still would rather have a 30ish Batman. There are still so many stories to tell of Batman in his prime which I see as his 30(s). Where I see age maybe being an issue is say the actor is 45 now and that WB wants 4 Bat flicks out of him - apart from his WF and JL appearances. At 3 years apart per Bat film the actor could be pushing 60 by the time the 4th film comes out. If they go older for WF then cast someone in their mid-30(s) and make him up to look 45. It gives WB more flexibility going forward with Batman.
