Batman discussion thread.

This is the FIRST issue of a Morrison book sans Quitely that I've ever really liked. Not saying that the art was great overall, and the story didn't depend on the art as much as a typical comic, but at least it didn't fook up the book like it did when a non-Quitely artist was on New X-Men.

I thought the ish was exceptionally moody, that the excessive use of twisted description worked, considering the subject of the story. It was all about the uneasy imagery, and Morrison worked it. He worked me, at least.

Thats fine, but the writing to me seemed like a cheap mystery novel you buy at the airport.

Let's see...
I dislike the format, because, when I purchase a comic book I'm under the impression I am about to indulge in material that is primarily visual... Art, if you will.
On point about this. I just got done reading it and I didn't expect to see a Twisted Metal Black version of a Batman comic.

I wonder if they did this trying to relate to the upcoming movie.

Too much reading and lacking in action and art. Booooring.

You know, before you purchase a comic book, you should really take a peak at the insides.

I never do. I liked to be shocked when I get home. Good or bad.:(

Looking at the first page of a comic will hardly spoil any surprises for you.

I have a question, since superman past has been altered[yet again], I assume Batmans past has been altered to the more silver-age route as well. With Bruce being raised by his uncle, and learning all his martial arts in the U.S. etc.

Mmmmmmmmmno.

well since you can't say for certain,I will assume his origins have been altered, like supermans and others have. Considering all the earths joined into one, and it would be impossible for him to have the exact same origin.

To my knowledge, the biggest change with Bats is that Joe Chill murdered his parents and he was captured.

I liked it. It was a fresh changeup. Besides, it was only one issue.

Batman has gone through so much it's amazing that he hasn't snapped Lex Luthor's neck and taken over the Legion of Doom......

I like Bats, but sometimes he's too dark & brooding. I wish he would just lighten up a bit sometimes. I don't mean getting all 'Superman' squeaky clean, but damn son!!! It's the best when he smiles-scary cool!!!!!!

Morrison has stated that he's going to be writing a more light-hearted Batman. You can kind of see it in the 'Batman & Son' arc.

What if it's a comic designed by Tarantino?

Then you'd read the first page and realize it was a really lame story that idiots will probably bow down to in worship, and then you'd spend the $2.99 on a comic that didn't actually suck instead.

Fortunately, it was Morrison, so it was quite good.

^I take it you don't like Tarantino?

You're pretty quick on the uptake.

Holy ****! Thats a pretty far fetched conclusion to come to.

And you know what, I bet Leaguer likes Grant Morrison!

Hey nice cover to the upcoming Detective, Bianchi. I bet Bats has always wanted to see someone else unload a cumshot on Robin.

I hate Bianchi.
