Batman Forever: Dark Knight Edition

ooooh, i dont think it will be that much better than it is though, deleted scenes wer deleted for a reason...they suck xD

Someone did a similar thing for Batman And Robin a few years ago, and released it as "Batman And Robin DEASSIFIED". It was okay; I have a copy of it and it's better than regular B&R.

This "fan Edit" is online, though I will not say as a simple google did the trick for me.

Are you talking about this: http://fanedit.org/297/

That is an edit inspired by the Batman Forever: The Dark Knight Edition this thread is about, but it is not the edit described by Drake Retro some time ago: http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/topic.cfm/Batman-Forever-Dark-Knight-Edition/topic/8039/

Please review this thread for more info.

In search of the real deal,

If we don't get to see this, which I feel like we aren't, that would really suck.

Hasn't Alex Proyas really only made one good movie and Dark City was pretty tight?

Hate to ruin the parade, but TDK edition if its the one I'm thinking of has been confirmed to be a fake and all the screenshots where made in photoshop :(

I like the idea. And I'd also love to see it.

is there any footage of this Dark Knight Edition online anywhere?

I did find what looks to be the Two Face escape scene.

Thats a trailer to Paulisdead2221's BF re-edit, which is not what we talk about. Also, the trailer's Two-Face-escape is not included in the re-edit itself - go figure..

I plan on reworking Batman Forever into a completely new film. I downloaded the fanedit of Batman Forever entitled Batman: The Dark Knight and was pretty disappointed sadly. Rather than removing the score, he just puts the Elfman theme on top of the original score. It's poor and pathetic. Don't bother with it. If you want to see a good Batman Forever fan edit, then check out Batman Forever: Red Book Edition or wait for what I have instore ;)

Wasnt Joel Shumacher supposed to be working on a Batman Forever:directors cut?
Wasnt this confirmed/announced 10 years ago?

I still havent seen it in stores, i.e., Circuit City, Best Buy, ect? Are they just refusing to carry it, as a Shoemaker protest?

Does he still make fillms?

You would think , with the success of "Dark Knight", WB could put at least a small tad of effort into makin a "Mask of the Phantasm" Special Edition, a "Batman Forever" Directors Cut.

And maybe even a "Batman" 20 Year Anniversary that ISNT a complete turd, that is, exactly the same as the Special Edetion DVD that came out 3 years back, except some worth a nickel photo book thrown it.

I swear, WB does not deserve the rights to Batman they hold. If only,if ONLY Miramax could somehow wrestle the rights away from those hacks!

I swear ever since i found out about this edit last year i really wanted to see it cause the editor took his time & re-edit the whole movie with every footage available for 2 years to make it fit better with with first 2 films & to be the end of trilogy it's a just real shame that those who got the dvd never put it online for us to see which sucks really :cmad: nor has the editor.

P.s i know this forum is 6 years but i wanted to post how i feel about this edit.

Why are people trying to turn Schumacher's movies into Burton movies? They simply aren't.

I wish that the studio would permit Schumacher to release a director's edit of Batman Forever. The deleted scenes - especially Bruce's confrontation with the Bat in the cave and the Red Ledger subplot-would have improved the movie considerably. In all honesty, if they re-installed those, removed the cartoon sound effects (such as those playing when Riddler attacks the Batcave,) it would be a much better film. Even the watered down theatrical cut is still a viable film: I've always considered it the Steve Englehart era refracted through the Batman (1966) television program.

Off-topic, I cannot remember if it was for BF or B&R, but I recall reading that H.R. Giger was commissioned to design a Batmobile for one of the films. I would love to see his designs (he is one of my favorite artists.)

The BF batmobile is the Giger inspired batmobile, you can tell just by looking at it.

In these links you can find an unused Batmobile concept Giger developed for Batman Forever.
