I don't know what you consider "big" but aside from his height he doesn't look big to me at all currently, he looks like an average guy that height with an athletic build, not Batman size at all.

I can tell from the photo I posted from 2 days ago that he's not in Batman shape yet. As a fitness and bodybuilding enthusiast and being in and out of the gym at least 5 days a week I can tell the difference clothes on or not what someones build looks like and right now Ben is lacking.

So am I. But we're also 4 months out from shooting, and we both know 4 months will make the world of difference.

To me Ben just looks average here, not much bigger than he normally looks, he's always been in good shape but keep in mind he has a natural athletic build and his height makes him seem bigger. Ben has his work cut out for him he has 4 months to get in Batman shape, he can do it he's just not there yet which this photo clearly shows.

If we were supposed to be getting a lean 1970's Denny O'Neal Batman I'd say he's not far off, but it's obvious that's NOT what we're getting.

He wasn't huge in The Town. He was pretty big and had a very low BF %. As of right now, his barrel chest and broad back would take care of him. In 4 months, he can easily add a lot of size to his arms/shoulders/legs. He wouldn't even need to work that hard.

If you're a fan of comic accuracy there is, Bats and Supes have always been drawn with very similar builds and physique types in the comics, cartoons etc. I don't see any reason why they shouldn't be equally as matched in a live action film.

For me it depends on how the suit looks. If it's a suit that incorporates armor platings that cover up the muscle, what's the point?

If he's going to wear a fabric like material like the mos suit then it's sort of needed but not sure to cavil's degree. How much did Shannon work out for Zod? His suit was padded and gave him an appropriate muscle definition that looked natural from my viewing.

I don't think he put on much mass for the Town it was more about getting his bf% down and getting the ripped look.

There were so many worried about how Cavill was going to look onscreen and he ended up looking great. Lets not jump to conclusions about how Affleck is going to look when they start filming the movie.

i don't think batfleck needs to "cultivate mass" i don't think his physique will be a problem at all.

I'd want him to work as hard as he possibly can, like Cavill did. Its much more admirable in my eyes when these guys put all they have into really capturing the essence of the character. This is especially true for Batman, who is perhaps the hardest worker in comic mythology. Everything he is, is because of his will power and dedication. Here's hoping Affleck gives it his all and perhaps even surpasses Cavill's physique.
