I think Affleck looks good already. I doubt his suit will show off his body as much as Superman's, so I don't think he needs to be huge unless he has a shirtless scene.

I fully disagree I expect him to fully embody Bruce Wayne and Batman meaning he needs to able to physically fill out the bat-suit the same way Cavill filled out his Superman suit. Knowing how big of a Batman fan Affleck is I expect him to be in much better shape before filming begins.

We've been over this on earlier pages here but the suit was designed to complement cavill's physique not for cavill to work at filling it out himself. When these actors bulk up it's more so that they look big out of the costume tbh.

When Bale was at his biggest in Begins it wasn't to fill out the begins costume it was to look big whenever he wasn't in it. The costume affleck will wear will be designed to maximize his appearance of size and muscle that's not the issue.

When Bale was at his biggest in Begins it wasn't to fill out the begins costume it was to look big whenever he wasn't in it. The costume affleck will wear will be designed to maximize his appearance of size and muscle that's not the issue.

Maybe you and I have different feelings on the matter then, but I want the actor playing Batman to BE Batman as much as possible, and physicality is a very important part of that for me personally.

I want him to be the size in or out of the suit equally not just when he's in the suit.

Were on the same page mostly, I just pointed out that the way modern suits/costumes are made they are made to be able to enhance the natural built of the actors. That was in reference to affleck "filling out the suit" as if affleck would not be big enough to fill out the costume or something.

As for Ben something to consider is that he's already an established star with some clout as opposed to Cavill or Bale in Begins who were both young hungry actors trying to prove themselves, if they were told they have to go to the gym 4 hours a day they listened. Affleck has got more clout however and certainly more clout as a director even than snyder. I'm not sure if he'd have the same motivation that cavill or bale first had to push themselves?

Maybe he'll surprise us though?

The thing with Ben over his career you can tell, is he really puts all his effort into his own films but with other people's it's very hit or miss.

I have faith in him in that category from everything everyone has said about him he's a HUGE Batman fan, to me that means I'm sure he wants to be as faithful to the character as possible, including aesthetics.

Haha no tubby Bats, but I don't want a super lean fitness model either. He needs to look STRONG. Like someone who can take dish out a beating each night and take it too. He needs some meat on dem bones...I don't think he needs an 8 pack as much as he needs big, broad shoulders and a wide back.

I was actually legitimately impressed with the shape Gibson got in for Expendables 3, juice or no juice at that age it still took a ton of effort on training.

I always think it's funny when people talk about steroids like these guys just inject it and it makes them big and muscular, when in reality it only helps with the growing process you still have to train intensely to get the desired results.

I don't know what you consider "big" but aside from his height he doesn't look big to me at all currently, he looks like an average guy that height with an athletic build, not Batman size at all.
