BvS Batman Physique Thread

The pics I posted in the Batsuit thread from The Batman got me thinking that Affleck seemed to have a similar body shape based on those paparazzi pics.

I can see him and Cavill obviously looking different size-wise kinda like this (except for the height difference) ...

From 2 days ago, looking Batman ready you guys?

We will see how he looks in 3 more months. He will be ready.

He has the same trainer he had for when he got ripped for The Town. I wonder if he will some workout sessions with Cavill and Gym Jones?

Should Ben get in Hugh Jackman shape?

I think Ben can get in Jackman type shape. He has same body type as Hugh. Then again Ben will need some of the special juice (HGH) that Hugh has been using also. hehe

I think they will just make him do normal physic build and maybe relay on suit curves to show him huge and muscular similar to comics .
I just hope his suit wont go digital at least .

Are you guys forgetting he's still filming another movie…he can't get big while working on it.

Thank goodness someone else realised this!

My personal preference on his physique would be to get bulked up. Don't worry too much on cutting. Just make his chest, shoulders and back be huge. Oh and legs! NEVER miss leg day.

when he can look like this im sure ben can do as well...even without taking what ever this super soldier serum was;-)

Holy crap...is that real? If so, I'm very impressed.

To me Ben just looks average here, not much bigger than he normally looks, he's always been in good shape

There is a huge dichotomy between "good shape" and "Batman shape". Ben probably doesn't have the time (or maybe the genetics) to get his limbs in proper shape. His legs in particular are really thin. I guess we are going to have to settle for the costume muscles this time around.

I was going to say how absurd this expectation was then I remembered celebrities have that special vegetable and chicken that normal folks don't have access to.
even i managed to gain 10 pounds in 6 weeks its possible even without that ''special'' diet

Then it wasn't pure, lean muscle. I have no doubt you gained mass, but a significant part of it was fat. The most LEAN muscle (no fat at all) that can be gained is around half a pound a week. However, they say losing 20 pounds of fat makes you look like you put on 10 pounds of muscle (something like that). Affleck will likely get shredded in the coming months, which will make him look huge, as he's already a big guy.

"The Batman" look worked well in animation, especially with the cape. There's no way they'll translate the way the cape looked onto the screen well. It was always silky looking and perfectly angled. I doubt the cape will be below his feet.

I don't particularly think we need a shredded Batman at all, I want a Batman that looks tough and like he's a strong guy, Batman has been depicted as both acorabatic (lean) and strongman type (Jim Lee), I really don't see them going the leaner martial arts route this time around.

I assume they'll just cheat it where need be. The Bale capes were different lengths depending on what was needed for the shot. I imagine Snyder will do the same, but with more CG augmentation, as he did in MoS.

Yeah, I'm certainly picturing him as a big guy this time, because of Affleck's frame. But, also ripped... Because Snyder.

true that now its cutting time...i wonder what a seasoned batman needs to look like...i agree as well that he doesent need to look hugh jackman lean

We've been over this on earlier pages here but the suit was designed to complement cavill's physique not for cavill to work at filling it out himself. When these actors bulk up it's more so that they look big out of the costume tbh.

When Bale was at his biggest in Begins it wasn't to fill out the begins costume it was to look big whenever he wasn't in it. The costume affleck will wear will be designed to maximize his appearance of size and muscle that's not the issue.
The Bale suit was different, its made up of a million pieces on top of each other which would make anyone look big and imposing. The MOS suit is different, and I know we have have been over this. :yay:

But its kind of a bodycast close fitting tight suit and the material isn't stretchy. So say if he loses size in the biceps or chest, the suit would sag a bit. Or if he increases in the waist, it won't fit. Otherwise there would be no reason for Cavill to train throughout the shoot too. So the suit it ain't like a wonderbra so to say. :oldrazz: The wearer definitely contributes to its external shape and how it looks.

No he can't. Jackman is basically a body-builder in a way. The kind of muscle Jackman has, the very dense mature muscle, comes from training for years and years at a very high level. He started body-building one entire year before filming began on The Wolverine and continued it throughout. And that was the intense phase. Even before that for years now, he was always training hard and keeping in top shape, no lapses at all. That is how he was able to get that insane shredded and sliced look for The Wolverine and Days Of Future Past.

Affleck cannot do that in 4 months. So Jackman shape ain't really possible. Cavill can try for it for MOS 3 or something if he keeps at it.

I'd want him to work as hard as he possibly can, like Cavill did. Its much more admirable in my eyes when these guys put all they have into really capturing the essence of the character. This is especially true for Batman, who is perhaps the hardest worker in comic mythology. Everything he is, is because of his will power and dedication. Here's hoping Affleck gives it his all and perhaps even surpasses Cavill's physique.
That might be difficult. There is also genetics and youth to deal with. By all means he should try, but it would be pretty extra-ordinary if he managed to surpass Cavill.

The pics a good example of what I was talking about earlier about how I don't think ben really put on much mass for the town but actually really just got his bodyfat% down mostly. I'm almost positive he's heavier in the pic on the left.

Most people here are talking about Ben bulking and gaining muscle mass which is different from cutting.

Are they trying to go a with a hulking batman maybe more like Bale in batman begins early scenes, or a lean and cut batman? Those are two different processes to aim for.

Yeah I think Cavill will get bigger than in MOS so I see that difficult also by you've said.

Slumcat, do you know if Jackman has used performance enhancing drugs/steroids for his body? I know he has been training hard for years, and he gives it his all. But many, many people I know accuse him of steroid use. I personally think he hasn't, and that it was all his own hard work. I'd like to know your opinion.
