Before rolling your eyes, consider that this movie is partly responsible for bringing about the Batman movie that 90% of fans ejaculate over: Batman Begins.

I was just in a BF thread and realized that while BF has redeeming qualities, so does B&R.

So... let's start appreciating this bizarre movie.

It really doesnt, its an awful, awful movie in pretty much every way. Only like i liked was the chick who played Batgirl was amazingly hot. Apart from that...

I must be in the other 10%.

Anyway, I liked the posters for Batman & Robin. And the rollercoaster that is themed after the movie at Six Flags in New Jersey is really fun.

Damn, did this movie suck.

But your right, it was responsible for bringing us Batman Begins.

So for that, I appreciate it.

I belong to that too.

i agree with everything that you said majik,i actually think this movie should have been mae years before they did it,they went to gothicy dark to campy then back to dark
i like it for being a homage to the 60s as a sequel to burtons movies,i hate it

Uma Thurman was a hot Poison Ivy
It was a good movie if you think of it as an homage to the campy 60's series and comics.
I agree, it was pretty funny if one watch it as a comedy.

And I appreciated Batgirl's bat-puffy-nipples. :o

see the nipples do have pros and cons ;)

No, it wasn't. The 60's show was a classic TV show. It was the greatest piece of camp ever. Batman & Robin is bad camp.

B&R is Master Bruce's favorite movie.

See Batman and Robin wasn't made to bring us Batman like we saw him in Batman Begins therefor I cannot appreciate it. Alfred had some well written lines though in his conversations with Bruce. How does Goldsman write that and then all those plant/ice puns?

Batman and Robin is hilariously bad.

But let's look past the one-liners and the puns. Without them, you actually have a VERY solid film. Not perfect, but solid. THe film is utterly fitting of the 60's era of Batcomics (Not great, I know, but it's somethnig that must be noted) and has enough going for it that it's a coherent film for the most part.

The subplots are good. Arnold's serous scenes are well acted. Uma Thurman was fairly dead-on for Ivy.....

there's a lot good about this mess of a comedy, but I can't ever call it a good movie.

yes,very,she musta been cold;):oldrazz:

They can't be that visible as I've never seen them outside publicity photos.

Anyway, check out one of the original designs;

I would say that it's inappropriate for a kids' movie, but that didn't stop Schumacher piling on the homosexual overtones.

I appreciate B&R for what it was and its place in Bat history. It did give some good moments, no doubt.

Agreed. Never have I had any problems at all with how Thurman portrayed Poison Ivy. From the start and until now there has only been praise from me.

While Mr. Freeze's puns did get annoying, we have to give credit to the way Arnold acted out the love-story arc. The scene with the widdled ice sculpture is touching.

Definitely. And thanks for sharing those pictures. Here's some from me:

There were soooooooooo many friggen grappling hooks used in that movie. It must have taken them a year to come up with all the different ones. The special effects in the movie were top-notch. The CGI shots still look fantastic 10 years later.

P.S.
Uma Thurman as Poison Ivy kind of reminded me of the BTAS Poison Ivy. KIND OF.

I know! Batman should be called Grapple-Man. And as soon as Barbara becomes Batgirl, what is she doing? She's firing grappling hooks all over the place! That's all you need to save Gotham, a million f****** grappling hooks.

And how they break through concrete walls on the first try EVERY TIME is beyond me.

Yes, I was making a reference to those publicity photos.
But, it can be seen, and in close up, only that it's pretty fast, here's a screencap that I found on batmanunmasked.com:
