Yes please. As a huge Batman fan and a fan of Telltale's TWD I am down for this.

TellTale Games, their games are the ones with a lot of talking and character interactions, right? No real action to them? Never played any of their games.

NO! GODDAMNIT TELLTALE, NO!

I am actually incredibly disappointed by this. Telltale is spread way too thin at this point. TWD season 3 is coming God knows when. They claim 2016, but who knows? Same with The Wolf Among Us season 2. Who knows when they will get around to another season of Game of Thrones (even though it ended on a cliffhanger). TT is just stretching itself way too thin. I wouldn't even mind the Batman game if it weren't for their nonsensical projects like Minecraft game or Borderlands. TT needs to focus on what it already has. The expansion is getting out of hand. They are now juggling 3 or 4 games at once and therefore it is taking 2 to 3 months to get new episodes. It is frustrating.

oh sorry man it's most likely cause I fell off the walking dead game wagon. I'll put up news for it now. there is some thing.

I've never heard of these guys, nor played their games obviously. Based on their previous work, how can we expect this game to differ from the Arkham series (which all in all, I'd consider pretty definitive)?

If it is that stupid Micchione side story, I give zero ****s. Season 3, damnit! :argh:

They do interactive choose your own adventure style games. It will be nothing like the Arkham games at all.

Disregard my last post. Just did a quick Google to see what they're all about, and I have absolutely no interest in this.

EDIT: Thanks anyway, Tanin. :)

My thoughts, from The Walking Dead thread:

Matt said:
Ugh, the Michonne game is such a bad idea. And I love the character. But the problem is, she is an established character. The fun of Telltale games is creating your own character, your own choices, your own narrative. Micchone has set rules that she has to play by. Lee could be ruthless or kind or anywhere in between, because there were no parameters. All of Micchone's choices will have to fall within the parameters of her established character, however. It takes away from the experience.

I have a similar problem with this Batman game. Look at A Game of Thrones. When you are being Mira, you can throw your friend under a bus and destroy her life to help yourself, you can betray Margarey or be a loyal servant and tell your family to **** off. With all the characters, you as a player have the ability to select their personality, rationalize their choices, and ultimately set who they are. Mira's ending gives you the choice between dying and maintaining principles or agreeing to essentially become a sleazy merchant's sex slave while letting your only friend get decapitated. Its two extremes, but you get to build it from a fresh slate. Mira's evolution is very well done, no matter how you do it. Same with Asher, going from reckless warrior to diplomat (or reckless warrior to staying reckless warrior and ****ing everything up)...there is satisfaction in building these characters.

Batman is established. We're not going to be able to decide that killing Joker is in the name of the greater good. We're not going to be able to decide that we don't want to be involved with Gordon. There will be set rules and everything will reflect that. Therefore, all I am doing is essentially picking dialogue.

Tales from the Borderlands is probably the best games they've done. It's amazing. I'm glad they chose to pick up that "nonsensical" project.

Yeah, I kind of agree with Matt. Telltale is stretched way too thin. Aren't they also working on a Marvel game we know nothing about? They need to pump the brakes and focus on only a few titles. The long waits between episodes also kinda sucks. Next they'll be announcing a project with Guillermo Del Toro. :o

Whatever, I'll still play it. Their games are awesome and some of the best choose your own adventure style games. Anyone who hasn't played them and doesn't normally prefer that type of game should really reconsider and at least try The Walking Dead if you're a fan of the series.

My thoughts, from The Walking Dead thread:
I hear hear on the bat man game . maybe if they made about the teams he created like the out siders or batman incorporated it'd be possible where'd you can play any of the members and have thse chose's you mentioned . then again you'd have batman after you if youdid kill a villain for the greater good. he'd only allow it, if it was your character saving life of an innocent and you had not her chose cause you out of idea's and way's to capture said villain, or were in a self defense situation where your own life was in dangerthere was no other available. but it's it's not those he'd be after you.

My hope at this point is, that it isn't a Batman game, but rather a Gotham P.D. game. That could actually make an amazing game. You play as a rookie detective with the Gotham Police Department. Are you on the take, one of the corrupt scum bags that Gotham seems to attract or do you follow the footsteps of Jim Gordon? Do you kill to save the greater good or do you adopt the rules of Batman and stick to the justice system? Each decision could put you in conflict with the Bat or in his corner. It would actually be an interesting route to take. If TT goes that way I am totally on board. But I don't want to play as Batman.

under stood and yes that could be interesting as well.

I mean, really, TellTale has finished most of their immediate projects outside Minecraft and Walking Dead, and with the pace that Minecraft is coming out I would say it's pretty near to completion. GOT, Wolf Among Us, Marvel stuff...do we even know if those are being actively worked on? I know they've talked about them, but we really have no idea how much resources are really being put into them.

“This iteration of Batman will give fans a first-hand opportunity to dive deeper into the complex life and mind of Bruce Wayne, the duality of his own identity, and the struggle of responsibility in saving a city overcome with corruption and villainy.”

Ok but what about the Batmobile because we need Batmobile tank combat.

I think that is the problem that folks have. We have been promised sequels to these games, but instead TT is diverting resources to projects that don't even sound very appealing. I mean, was anyone asking for a Michonne spinoff game? Wolf Among Us season 2 was announced, season 1 ended on an amazing cliffhanger, and contrary to your comment about Borderlands, Wolf Among Us is easily TT's best effort...yet no movement on it. It just gets frustrating.

Sounds like you'll be playing as Batman/Bruce Wayne from the announcement. It's probably going to be a lot of balancing dual identity stuff. Choosing to skip out on board meetings? Sharing your secret identity? Vicki Vale and Lucius Fox will remember that.

I for one am automatically interested!

Because fans have just been dying to play as Bruce Wayne in his day to day life?

TellTale is my favorite developer at the moment but I seriously see no point to this. The Arkham series did Batman to perfection. What can TellTale bring to the table? A greater focus on detective aspects? They already did that with A Wolf Among Us...it was great...but just do a sequel to that game. Arkham's detective work was adequate enough. I just don't see the point in this.

My point was, we really don't know how thin they're really pooling themselves, because we have no idea how far along some of these projects are, or if their even started. It's easy to speculate based on what they've announced and all, but unless one works for TT, we have no idea what their resource pool actually looks like.

And no, Borderlands is better than Wolf. Both are good, though. Wolf is probably a close second.

Excited about this one. I think it's an interesting format to tell a Batman story. More detective work - something I'm interested in.
