5 I think is a fair score.

That shouldn't be answered for at least 2 more weeks.

I myself LOVED the movie (and my history of skepticism is on record here), and if it were solely up to my opinion I feel Zack deserves his shot at JL. But if crowds are just as divided, I don't mind putting my feelings aside and would vote in favor of pushing him to the back for a more acclaimed director.

I wouldn't outright fire him, this world (for better or for worse) is thanks to him. He needs to have some creative power to make the transition seamless.

Probably a better time, you are correct.

7/10 for me, I think I've officially had enough time to assess my issues with it.

Straight up question, despite you yourself liking this movie and putting your feeling aside for a moment would you support Snyder's removal from JL for the sake of the franchise, the characters and the rest of the audience?

Hell no, I love what Zack's doing. If the audience likes it too, then there's no problem.

I walked out of the theater feeling ambivalent, and I was thinking 7/10, probably because I was bouyed by Batfleck and

The death of Superman

After the movie has been simmering in my mind since then, I can't see it as more than a 6. I'm going to give it one more watch before I make my final rating and vote.

Things I'll be looking for in the second viewing

-Now that I know the story, I'll be watching more closely to see how well it's told.

-I'll be expecting the flashbacks and visions this time, so I can pay better attention and analyze them instead of thinking "WTF is going on.."

-I want to pay more attention to Batfleck. A lot of people are saying he's the best thing about the movie, but I don't agree as I felt Superman was the only one who had an actual arc.

Right now though, to me this movie is MOS with better dialogue and a far worse score.

Nope. He needs to finish this with JUSTICE LEAGUE.

A "dangerous film"? Sorry... That's just so silly and over the top.

My review, not a native english speaker so please bear with my not so good english (SPOILERS alert, maybe)

Batman v Superman. Two iconic superheroes fight on the big screen. It sounds great and I have been waiting for today to watch it ever since the announcement 3 years ago. Heck, I have even rewatched MOS and found it to be pretty good. I generally enjoys all movies so I guess you can say that I am easily pleased. I knew about the bad reviews, adjusted my expectations and still came out disappointed, baffling at what could have gone so wrong.

The film had a great start. The Wayne murder was short and beautifully shot (I mean...filmed) and the MOS event from Bruce's POV. Everything was great. And then it went downhill. The pacing is all over the place. The first half of the movie was boring. It was random scenes hastily put together with no natural flow and no action scenes to break things up a little bit. Once the set up is done, here comes the action packed second half and boy, everything is so fast paced that I had no idea what was going on.The transition from BvS fight to fighting Doomsday was incredibly bad.

Speaking of BvS, the titular Batman and Superman were...well, awful. I like Ben Affleck (no idea why, I just like the dude even though I barely see any of his movies) and I think he did well with what he had here, but his Batman was so questionable. I get that Snyder is trying to do an angry Batman but execution just failed. To quote my gf, "Batfleck is absolutely insane." I can live with a Batman who kills, but the killings were so brutal that I started to wonder if it was necessary. Oh and everything somehow explodes, like I'm watching a Michael Bay movie.

Superman...I felt he was barely there even though the movie was talking about problems of his existence. I feel like he was getting ***** all over the place, like everyone and the universe hates him. Everything was so gloomy for him.

The other characters are meh. Wonder Woman first appearance was great (helped by the awesome OST) but that's it. Lois Lane was ok I guess (some stupid decisions there at the end). Alfred was freaking awesome and I demand a solo Batman movie with more Alfred. As for the villain, Lex Luthor was bad. I don't mind the awkward geek/evil genius but other than some random throwaway lines, he is evil just because. He also somehow manipulated both heroes to fight each other, but the extend of the manipulations was so badly shown that I was confused how did all that happen. But I let that slide because I have the titular fight right?

Err, the titular Batman vs Superman was so disappointing. Nevermind the flimsy reasons for them to fight and how Superman can literally end the fight by maybe speaking louder and faster, the whole fight was so one sided that it wasn't even funny. Once Batman brought out the kryptonite and it was game over Superman. And Superman was such a bad fighter that he failed to do anything when Batman was slowly loading another kryptonite bullet and just flew to him to get shot.

I don't really have much to say about the Doomsday fight. It was nice to see but could have been better. Maybe I was too let down by all that had happened to really care. Like I mentioned, WW's first appearance in costume (not the video) was really badass and the Trinity worked well together (despite Batman just tried to murder Superman in cold blood earlier and somehow they are bros now). The funny thing is that the movie kept hitting you on the head that THE WHOLE PLACE IS ABANDONED but looking at the scale of the destructions, thousands must have died again

Of course the movie has its ups, namely the opening montage, Batmobile actions and Batfleck taking on goons in the warehouse (despite questionable decisions) and the OST. But the bads far outweighs the goods and I really wonder how they can get so many thing wrong.

I really don't know what to think. I feel like laughing and feel like crying. I was ready to love this film. I bought batfleck t shirts and 2 HT Batflecks preordered because I expect to love this film despite everything. I don't even know when was the last time I was so let down by a film.

Overall I gave the film a 4/10. Maybe it will be better when I watch it again, but I doubt it will be anytime soon. But if you are wondering if you should watch it, do so. My cousin watched it and thought it was pretty good so maybe the movie might be for you. As for me, I just hope the negative reactions can make WB to reconsider the future of DCEU and to make some drastic and hopefully good decisions.

Film is a goddamn mess, but a beautiful one.

DC fanboy in me liked it, but the flaws are there.

I'm so happy to say Gal and Batfleck are awesome tho.

TDKR imagery had me like Hnnnngh.

The most frustrating thing is that this could have been great and a sense of a real game changer. I do find it funny and smh when we were hearing good things it had to be cause of Terrio and Batfleck, but now is all Snyder. I did leave anticipating JL tho. I also do feel like Snyder should let others play with these characters, but not till JL2.

A solid 7/10.

...

I still need one more viewing tomorrow night before I come up with my official rating. If I absolutely had to give one right now it would be either a 7/10 or 8/10 probably right in the middle.

I'm not overly familiar with MovieBob on Youtube as a critic but holy heavens, he tore this movie a new one. I mean, wow.

All random YouTube critics have the exact same relevance as any of us posting our reviews on the Hype.

I think this is my favorite so far:

"The story, like the testicles of a weightlifter on steroids, dwindles away to nothing."

I give it a 7/10.

This was basicly a Batman-movie. He goes from A to B. The others not so much, though Superman is struggling a bit. Going A-B-A.

Must be mind-boggling for the casual viewer, since a lot of it is like a big Justice League-teaser.

Visually it's standard Snyder. Been there, done that. I suspect even the Sun has it' fare share of shadow in this world.

I really think a directors cut with 20 more minutes will help the movie. Even with 2 1/2 hours my main complaint is that it feels a bit rushed. So they prioritized Batman.

The opening sequense with a Bruce POV was amazing.

spoiler

As far as "no-kill-code", did nok seem like that was the case for Batman. I get that he's in a bad place, but this seemed a bit ... off. He's not The Punisher.

And the contrived "the area is cleared" dialogue before every fight was a bit annoying. I get that they want to avoid the same discussion from MOS, but it just did not feel natural

Question for those who have seen it, do you know what the first song played in the movie is and the last?

Moviebob is my absolute favorite movie critic, I was unaware he did a review of this until now. Thanks for the heads up.

Why in the %#€} did I click on that????
Crap!

See, I'm glad I saw the spoilers for the film before I see the movie (I'm going on Saturday). Now, I don't have to figure out the story, and can immediately focus on how they execute it.
