Hey everyone, its been a while since i've posted on here. Been busy with life and whatnot. Went through some hard times, but came out all the better for it. But I'm working a project over at fanedit.org.

It's a BATMAN YEAR ONE ANIMATED fanedit. I'm basically putting together a year one style film taking footage from Brave and the Bold ("Chill of the Night"), Mask of the Phantasm, Gotham Knight, various TAS episodes ("Pretty Poison", "Two Face", "Beware the Creeper"), and The Batman ("Traction"). WHen I have a teaser ready I'll post it on youtube probably then send the link here as well as fanedit.org. But I figured I'd drop a line and let everyone know bout this little project.

here's a little something i put together. it's my first banner for something like this. let me know what you think.

Hey I randomly stumbled upon your idea for a fan edit, and I think it's great. The only thing I suggest is that you stray away from mixing animation styles. That is to say, if you're going to make this movie you need to only use the animation from one series.

Mixing different series together is going to totally take the viewer out of the movie. You've gotta stick with just one animated take on the character. I would recommend sticking with just BTAS episodes and the movie. There are so many little scenes you can pull that I think you could make something out of it.

Also I made these posters for you. Your teaser idea is cool, but the two main problems are that it isn't movie poster size and your image of the bat symbol and the image of bruce's parents are fighting each other for your attention. If you make one of the two smaller, then there's more of a balance.

very awesome job on this. that definitely blows anything i had in mind for a banner or poster out of the water. the half on the right is definitely awesome.

if your up for it, would u be interested in helping with the fanedit as a creative consultant/producer maybe?

Cool. So far i'm trying to find a clip from the series of Bruce flying in a jet to Gotham or away from Gotham maybe. here's what i have so far.

Bruce returning to Gotham
Cut to: Training Montage (clips from Zatanna and Night of the Ninja)
Mask of Phantasm Flashback
On Leather Wings (?)

I'm sure there has to be at least one image of him on a plane. Maybe the strange secret of bruce wayne, or avatar. I think both of those show him in or walking off a plane at some point.

that's actually what I was figuring was either Strange Secret of Bruce Wayne, Day of the Ninja, or Avatar. i have a rough list of episodes and tallied up the runtime. and give or take roughly it'll be almost three hours (which is a bit long, also trying to find a good Catwoman clip that could be used as their first run-in)

I just checked out Strange Case of Bruce Wayne and didnt see any shots of Bruce getting off a plane. So that one's scratched. However, I did find some from Day of the Ninja and Avatar. Just have to figure out which one to use.

And roughly estimating the length of the clips I have put together for sure, so far at least the first act runs bout 25 minutes give or take.

Now, I'm planning out the second act. I'm hoping to have it be in total bout at least 2 hrs (thats roughly a good length I believe).

EDIT:

Okay after timing everything together, it'd be roughly 141 minutes which would be bout 2 hrs and 21 minutes give or take. Is that too long? Or is that just bout right?

Also would it be too bad to have Two-Face put an appearence during Batman's first year? I know it didnt happen in the graphic novel, thus this project could be inspired by Batman Year One instead of trying to put together basically panel for panel of Year One (which would be impossible with the series).

Yeah I would just keep it heavily inspired by year one but don't be a slave to it. Also, the run time does need to be cut down I think. I'm thinking more like an hour and a half to two hours max.

Have the training montage all mapped out. Now, I'm working on trying to find decent sources to work with.

Sorry that im bad with updates. But at this moment, sorta sad to say it but this project has taken a bit of a back burner while i try and find sources for the project to work with. I have things mapped out, but no sources to put the film together with. So it's a bit of a bummer. But I'm not gonna give up on it. It's just taking a hiatus while I work on another project to further my fanediting skills.

Let's just say that if this side-project i'm working on turns out the way i think it will. it'll be awesome. (and for those interested to hear about it, it's a different take on Spider-Man 3) Stay tuned for more information to come.
