A Year One film would kick ass. The script that's floating around was excellent, although a tad excessive in terms of violence. But some of it was real, which i liked, such as Bruce being all cut up, beat up and bloody. And despite it was different than the book, i felt it captured the mood and atmosphere of the book.
If you take away the excessive violence, make Bruce rich from the start, arriving to Gotham for the first time since his parents' murder, Gordon as the new cop from Chicago, his wife renamed to Barbara, some more heroics to Batman while keeping some of the "Travis Bickle" in him and the whole "Bat through the window"and make some changes to the script to accomodate the said changes, i'd be perfectly fine with that script being made into a film.
It captured the feel of the book. And i prefer the ending to the script over the book. They could keep the idea of the baby getting kidnapped(as well as Barbara?) and just use that in the script instead of Gordon's wife.
Maybe i'll do some re-writes haha
