Bale's Bat's was way different then Wayne's. It was also supposed to put fear in his enemies. I like his idea. I like how he did it in the movie. Therefore, Bale's is my favorite.

In terms of voice... Kevin Conroy kicks everyone ass on that list!!!

He is truly the most epic and powerful bat-voice... even if hes not trying.

If he put some muscle mass on himself then i belive he could also have played the bat in Tim Burton's 89 bat movie.

For me

1. Kilmer
2. Bale
3. Keaton
4. Cornoy
5. Clooney

I guess all of them except for Clooney got into the character and made Batman and Bruce Wayne two different people.
Each of them had their own way and vision of the character anyways.

1.) Kevin Conroy (Batman: The Animated Series, Mask Of the Phantasm, Gotham Knight, Justice League Unlimited, Batman Beyond)
2.) Christian Bale (Batman Begins, The Dark Knight)
3.) Michael Keaton (Batman, Batman Returns)
4.) Val Kilmer (Batman Forever)
5.) Will Friedle (Batman Beyond, Return of the Joker)
6.) Rino Romano (The Batman)
7.) Jeremy Sisto (Justice League: New Frontier)
8.) George Clooney (Batman & Robin)
9.) Adam West (Batman (1966)

It´s Rino Romano... I think you are confusing him with someone else...

After a while, Conroy stopped differentiating voices between Bruce and Batman, around the time that the show went to the WB.

So I give it to Keaton.
I blame the WB for that almost exclusively. Their show tended to marginalize the Bruce Wayne character when the FOX show didn't. So in my book, Kevin Conroy is still the best.

I agree with your general logic, about how Bale differentiated the voices. There is only one problem though: Bale's Batman voice sucked and was almost accidentally funny at times.

I gave it to Kilmer. It was close enough to his real voice that I didn't feel it was being forced. Bale managed to do the deeper, rougher Bat-voice well, but in the end I'll always prefer Kilmer (although I don't prefer BF by any stretch of the imagination).

Yeah I concurr and the inconsistency really grated me I was very dissapointed considering I've been pro-Bale for the role since 1999. He's had time to perfect it so hopefully in TDK we will get a much more focused Batman voice now that he doesn't have to experiment and stuff.

The sad thing is Bale's "normal" American speaking voice, not half bad for Batman. It really only needs some subtle changes to come across as that deep, dark, brooding Batman. In fact in Batman begins some scenes, such as the "Ninja training" and the "prison scene" have him using a voice that would've transferred perfectly to Batman. I don't think Bale necessarily has to go with an over the top voice for his Batman. I think the changes in his maneurisms, the way he carries himself and his behavior around those watching him is enough to differentiate Batman from Bruce Wayne without resorting to comical voices.

The "Do I look like a cop" sequence with Flass echoed Bales difficulty with the voice; you could tell by his body language he had to put a lot of effort into channeling that voice out of him.

Definitely, and unfortunately this all falls on the director really. Bale can't decide on his own to do a voice like that, the director in the end is the one who has to okay it and decide whether it fits in the movie. So next time they ought to ditch the voice and just let Bale talk more or less like Bale, rather than a pedophile on steroids.

Tie, between Conroy/Keaton/Bale. Conroys was awesome all around, Keaton had the darkness of the voice perfect, and Bale's is just pure rage alot of times, which is so different from the others that I love it.

Well, I think they need to stick with what they've started; if they want to tone it down a little I'm open to that, but they can't have a sudden shift.

It's been a number of years since Begins came out, and the general public really won't notice such a difference...or more importantly, wouldn't care.

Bale and Conroy.

They're the ones who completely changed their voices as Bruce and Batman. I don't like whispering as a difference, "I still know it's you Bruce" Also, there the one's that really intimidate people. "SWEAR TO ME!"

I believe Bale's voice will get even more consistent for The Dark Knight.

The fanboys would.

Funny, considering Keaton started the whole deep and raspy Batman voice we all now associate with the character.

I will always love Keaton man, but even when I first saw the movie at 5, I always thought it was his regular voice lowered, which isn't bad at all, it's very good, I just love that the two I mentioned completely changed theirs.

Conroy/Keaton, ex aequo. The worst one is of course Bale, who appears to believe that alternating between rasping and screaming constitutes Batman's voice.
