Conroy is overrated. As is virtually everything B:TAS related. Best Bat-voice my ass ... haha

Lord, GRIN Reaper...you seriously can't expect to come out of this with some dignity. Most fans love Bale's Batman. That is a fact.

But calling Conroy or TAS overrated is just ridiculous. Conroy's voice is definitive - that's why it's so beloved. When we all grew up reading the comics, it was Conroy who we heard in our heads...even before TAS.

You can't possibly believe that we all heard Bale, do you?

Conroy / Hammil = OVERRATED garbage

It's basically nostalgia talking for kids, now young adults who watched it ever day after school while eating oreo cookies. I LOL at people who think BTAS is the best interp of Batman ... Conroy the best Batman actor, Hammil the best Joker ... it's laughable.

I'm afraid to ask what you find to be the best interpretation of Batman?

You all can hear whatever you want ... how you heard Kevin Conroy's voice in your head reading comics before you actually heard his voice on TAS doesn't make much sense ... but okay.

You didn't have to hear Bale.

He's still the best Batman / Bruce Wayne. The most talented person to deal with the character in any way.

He can be "definitive" to you guys, but I think he's mad overrated. As is much of BTAS. Not that it isn't good in sections, but it's hype certainly surpasses the material.

Grow up, young man. BTAS is the ONLY adaption where no one would suffer a "culture shock" when you switch from screen to the books :hehe:

Ok, I simply have to ask what you found so wrong with the BTAS interpretation of Batman?

Well it isn't a watered down kids cartoon show.

The best? Various comic incarnations from certain talented writers. But Chris Nolan's Batman universe is probably the best.

More so the kids who circle jerk about it more than anything, making it out to be something it wasn't. This is nothing revolutionary or outstanding right here ...

He's just a deep voice. haha ...

That's it.

And like I said, BTAS is watered down Batman mythos made for children.

This is a terrifying urban legend. A creature of the night ... a giant nightmarish human Bat.

Well, he's the best. Not much you can do about it. Cream always rises to the top. And Chris Nolan is at the top of the talent pool mountain in terms of what he did with the Batman mythos. Intelligent, pure, faithful to the essence, threatning ...

Yeahno...

In what way risen to the top? Box office? No, it didn't set the box office on fire in any way whatsoever. Do the Batman fans love it? Yes. But they also love BTAS, and you claim that's rubbish.

So, what are you basing your opinion on?

He's not faithful to the essence of the Batman mythos? His movies are un-faithful to the narrative of the stories adapted? You're out of you're god damn mind. Go ahead and watch your BTAS shorts. You know, "There is a Batman in my basement" is yeah ... SPOT ON to the great literary Batman stories. haha

**** outta here.

Tell me, who do you think did it best?

Vocally? Like what this thread's topic is about? Kevin Conroy because that was the entire basis on why he was cast, and he proved himself to have the best voice.

Best Bruce Wayne? I'm actually gonna give it to Bale here.

Best Batman? Michael Keaton, hands down. He was intimidating and he didn't need to do a ******ed "growling" voice to be intimidating.

Best Bruce/Batman overall? Michael Keaton.

there have been much dumber stories than "Batman In The Basment" in Batman's history well into the 80s. You don't seem to know much about Batman.

Most talented my Ass!

Bale is good... but he is also extremely bland in the role. HE is not the godsend to Batman that many suspect him to be.

Don't get me wrong... I love the guy - but I watch American Psycho, then BB and I think... what happened to the fire dude?

He's nowhere near as deep as barry white. Just got finished with Batman Beyond and he's even great as the crotchety old Batman.

But how about best motion picture universe? You can't beat Nolan's ... not by a LONG shot.

Best Bruce Wayne? I'm actually gonna give it to Bale here.
By far and away. Showed what a superior actor is considering the amount of depth and growth his character goes from start to finish. Believable, 100%.

Best Batman? Michael Keaton, hands down. He was intimidating and he didn't need to do a ******ed "growling" voice to be intimidating.
Hands down? LOL ...

You mean Michael Keaton intimdated you, the audience member? Forreal?

:wow:

All he did performance wise was whisper his normal voice. That frightened you?

And Bale may have not intimidated the audience, I sure hope not if you are now a grown ass man, but that's not his job. The people living in the world of the movie are intimidated. That's the point ... and even so, there isn't a scene out there that screams intimidation the way Bale presented Batman in the scene with Flass and Crane in the basement of Arkham ... not one in any other Batman movie. It doesn't get more intimidating and threatning than that.

Seriously how else could Keaton be measured as a better Batman? He didn't do any of the physical stuff in the suit, where as Bale did virtually all of his. Physically Bale is the threatning one without even having to say or do anything.

BTW, do you follow the source material? Batman's voice is described as a growl in one of the best Batman graphic novels around, Batman: Year One.

Best Bruce/Batman overall? Michael Keaton.
Christian Bale carries BATMAN BEGINS as an actor from begining to end. He's the foundation for the film. Michael Keaton plays a second, even third fiddle at times in both movies he potrayed Batman. Best Bruce Wayne / Batman is Michael Keaton? haha ... That's like saying a role player on a sports team is better than the superstar. Keaton can't hold a candle to Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne ... and as Batman? It's kind of pointless, cause not much is needed to play a strong silent character. And even then Bale's precense is more intimidating and threatning. So really it's a draw based off preference for Bale / Keaton / or Kilmer in the cowl. Not much seperates them, really. But in terms of the whole picture, who personifies the character best as a whole ... you don't get any better than Christian Bale.

Don't get me wrong... I love the guy - but I watch American Psycho, then BB and I think... what happened to the fire dude?
American Psycho isn't even his best performance. What happened? Bruce Wayne / Batman is more of a figure than an extroverted character who has alot of dialogue. Batman is Batman ... strong, dark, silent. Yes, some people either don't get what he was doing with the voice, or just plain don't like it ... but his Bruce Wayne is by far the most complex character and best potrayl that has been put on the big or small screen yet. Period.

You disagree? Who is better than Bale? Not a damn one.

In your opinion.

Someone could come in here and give tons of logical reasons why Adam West is their favorite Batman interpretation and best represents the character, and there could be nothing you or me could do to make them think otherwise.

You think Bale is the better Batman, that's fine. Some agree, others don't and prefer someone else to fill those boots, be it in a live action or animation performance. Who are you to tell people otherwise based on your analysis of the character? There are hundreds of different interpretations of Batman, you like one of them. What point are you trying to make? Bale is better in your opinion, not everyone else's. What makes you think that your views are the right ones?
