First, let me just say that I loved the Dark Knight (definitely in my top three best films of all time, period, if not #1) so I'm not trashing it, but one thing about it just kind of gets to me. In the scene with the Batpod, Batman is just kind of nonchalantly blowing crap (cars, stuff in alleys) out of they way. What if there were people in those parked cars? What if that was a homeless man's plywood home he blew up in the alley? :woot: There was another scene that disturbed me in BB where he rolls over the obviously occupied cop car and smashes the crap out of the roof. Doesn't that seem a little reckless, even for Batman?

I know I'm probably thinking way too much into this (it is a comic book movie, after all), but I thought I would see what other people thought.

I cant deal with that much easier than I can with it driving up the wall and spnning and landing
:o

Batman's got a lot of money

Now THAT was f'n cool I thought. You have to throw in some wow factor here and there.

Was it "Biker Boyz" when the guy did that kick off of a tree for no reason? That reminded me of that, a little.

Edit: But it was still awesome and the audience loved it.

i think his crashing and bashing in BB has a lot to do with the inner turmoil he has of his selfish motives versus what is good for gotham (ie rachel v. saving the city).

as for TDK, i think there is still some personal turmoil there, which is very evident in the interrogation scene with Batman and Joker. batman lets his emotions overrun him a bit, and he is not looking necessarily into the best for the city, but the best for himself.

just my opinion of course...

I agree with this, and I'm sure that's what the filmmakers were trying to get across.

Also, here's an ultra-super-nerdy way I can justify it: maybe he has some kind of crazy sensitive heat sensor built in somewhere that can tell him where a live body is. Still doesn't really explain the BB scene though. Those cops look like they would have been crushed.

God, I need to get a life.

HA! I remember the movie but don't remember that part specifically. Possibly some Netflix material there...maybe I'll go all out and get 'Rad' too.

:joker:

I think the driving up the wall and turning around was real, remember they said everything the Batpod does on film is REAL.

really? im so shocked people didnt like it. i thought it was really cool, and im not one for like "WOAH SWEET MOTORCYCLE DUUUDE", i just thought it was a neat little thing. it made sense, because otherwise it would have taken him forever to turn that bastard around....a minute later, when he does try to make a quick turn, he falls off and goes flying, so it made sense. is this just a case of people looking for anything to nitpick, or what?

^^^People did like it....the theater I was in loved it.

^^I hate when people say that...How can one theater love it and a whole other theater hate it?

My theater laughed... and not in a good way

I've seen it twice now, with completely different audiences and both times the crowd erupted in cheers when he went up the wall to turnaround. It was f'ing badass!

He feels since he didn't like it, everyone else shouldn't like it either.

Personally I liked it and I can pretty much vouch that the majority of the people where I attended liked it as well.

Uh, yeah thats exactly what I said... no! I said said people in my theater laughed. And all of my friends thought it was stupid also

How can you not like that wall spin, it brought out the kid in everyone there. Deep down inside everyone had to be like "WOW LOOK AT BATMAN GO". At least the Bat fans I know did. More amazing was seeing the Tumbler just flop around like it was some 2 LB kids toy, then the Batpod just literally blasting off that was amazing.

Personally i didn't like it at all.
But i think a couple of people around me seemed to think it was cool.

That's probably one of the few things that bothered me. Especially when they showed those two kids in a parked car. Batman could have easily blown them up and not even notice.
