(I beleive this thread already exists somewhere but I can't, for the life of my, seem to find it anywhere. So sorry but here goes anyway.)

What do you think will be the final scene of the movie, which will therefor to also be the final scene of the Nolan-directed Batman trilogy? Write the dialogue, describe the scene, or simply just tell us what you think will happen.

Gordan and Batman meet up on the roof*
Batman - *knocks on the new and improved Bat signal* "Nice"
Gordan - "I couldn't find any Mob Bosses"

Both- *smiles in understanding*

Batman - "Well Commisioner"
Gordan - "No it's Mayor now. You really started something. Corrupt cops non-existant, hope... everywhere. Good people of Gotham shaken out of apathy."
Batman - "But..."
Gordan - "Well there's just one more criminal to be caught... a fugitive really"
Batman - "You'll do what you have to do then"
Gordan - "Well... I'm a mayor now. That's not my concern anymore. Besides I heard the fugitive skipped for good now"
Batman - *understands but is worried* "But what if Gotham needs me?"
Gordan - "Well right now it doesn't. If and when it does, I'll make sure and give you a call."

Both - *stare a each and nod in agreement*

Batman - *Walks over to ledge and prepares to jump*
Gordan - "Where will you go?"
Batman - *stares for a while then turns to Gordan* "Any suggestions?".
Gordan - "Well you know I've been reading in the papers that they've been having quite the tourist attraction going on upstate"
Batman - "What kind of attraction?"
Gordan - "The kind I think you'd appreciate" *hands Batman a newspaper*

Newspaper reads - "Metropolis: Under Attack by Flying Aliens?" and there is blurry picture of blue & red figure in the sky

Batman - "I'll look into it"
Batman - *walk back to ledge then turns to Gordan* "Thank you Jim"
Gordan - "You're welcome.............. and good luck... Bruce"
Batman *Jumps off and into Batwing, and then takes off into the night sky*

THE DARK KNIGHT RISES

It's Gordon, not Gordan.

Something along the lines of:

NIGHT. EXT. ROOFTOP
Gordon stands alone, watching the desolate cityscape after the final confrontation (whatever it may be) between Batman and Bane. Suddenly, we hear a voice from behind, coming from the fog.

VOICE: I never said thank you.

Gordon gives a small hint of a smile, but does not turn his head, nor do we see where the voice is coming from.

GORDON: And you'll never have to.

Cut to black

"THE DARK KNIGHT RISES"

1) We already have a thread like this. More than one, in fact. One about speculation of the ending, one about fan made final scenes.
2) I'm sorry, but that was pretty bad. It's "Gordon" by the way.

I think we have been trolled, gentlemen. I mean, alluding to a sequel where Batman fights flying aliens...?

I do like Gordan acknowledging Bruce and Batman are one in the same. For me, I think Batman Begins is one of Nolan's weaker endings. I like his mind ****, enigmatic endings like Memento, Inception, and TDK. I understand WB was playing it safe with Begins, but I want TDKR to be more like TDK's ending than BB.

Though, the Joker card is such a cool gimmick. My complaint is mostly about the structure of the story, not the scene itself.

Didn't we hear that the whole ending was CGI? Which I always thought was bull, but has that been debunked at all?

I posted this a couple of days ago:

The only thing I want is TDKR to end with something similar to this (with same soundtrack):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=17pCGFiqJT8#t=79s

with the Bat flying through the screen and a quick shots of all Gothamites cheering him in broad day light.

Oh, sweet Jesus...

No way. That's too Batman 89. I think you guys are too optimistic about a cheery ending. Though I imagine either Bruce will find piece or die, ultimately, I feel like the Nolans will express the theme that you can NOT vanquish evil. Evil will always be a part of humanity. I think this pessimism will be counter balanced by a similar theme that good is also a part of humanity. This is what makes Batman a legend, not just a hero.

When Ra's wanted Bruce to become a legend, he succeeded. But his legend is the antithesis of what Ra's stood for. And that's what I predict will be brought forward in the finale.

There's not gonna be a rooftop ending or Bruce still being Batman. We can all be a little more creative than that lol

Lol, which is why I don't particularly like reading these threads. If this film is gonna be self-contained enough to have an ending in almost exactly the same fashion as the last two films, why call it the last and emphasize so much on the 'ending'?

Hey. The ending is going to allude to Batman fighting Cthulhu. The Nolans are doing a 180, don't demean the point of this thread.

Exactly. would be a huge letdown for me if they go with a Begins or 89 ending. But that won't happen because like u said, Nolans very adamant about telling people its the conclusion to a story. Sounds like a lot of folks on here don't know what that means lol

Some sound guy tweeted that, but it's not sure whether he worked on the film or not. I don't know if it's been debunked.

I really think the ending would have to be something establishing that this Batman is the final product. Whether it be him standing on a ledge in front of the signal or he and Gordon talking about the continuing war on crime.

Nolan did say that this would be the end of their story, which he said back in '04 was the origin story, that no one had ever given that period in Bruce's life much attention. The title really says it all. The Dark Knight RISES, Batman becoming THE Batman. I'd heard that the ending wasn't all cgi, but just shot in a closed location to keep the element of surprise. Nobody would want to be spoiled if set pics of Alfred taking up the mantle was the ending...Just a bunch of tangerines on his belt to throw at criminals.

I'm thinking like this:

well, if the rumors are true and Gotham is leveled by Bane's machine, then an entire CGI set would be required for the final scene.

Tang-a-rangs!!!!

Again, anyone expecting a "Burton" ending or an ending similar to Begins is going to be disappointed.
But these are joke endings right? Right?

I already know the ending. Known it for months.

Gordon and Batman stand on a rooftop, some days after Gotham has been saved. Batman is about to jump off the ledge and fly away when he turns to Gordon and says:

"Why do we fall commissioner?"

Gordon shakes his head

Batman says:

"So we can learn to pick ourselves back up"

Then he jumps off and glides away. Hanz Zimmer takes it from there as the credits roll. :oldrazz:
