The Dark Knight Batpod Scene

How can you not like that wall spin, it brought out the kid in everyone there. Deep down inside everyone had to be like "WOW LOOK AT BATMAN GO". At least the Bat fans I know did. More amazing was seeing the Tumbler just flop around like it was some 2 LB kids toy, then the Batpod just literally blasting off that was amazing.
No but deep down inside I said, "WOW THAT COULD'VE LOOKED ANYMORE STUPID."

The Wall spin and the batpod blasting out of the tumbler was so cool. :D

Uh, yeah thats exactly what I said... no! I said said people in my theater laughed. And all of my friends thought it was stupid also

Of course your friends thought it was stupid. Would they dare think otherwise and risk being shunned! :P I keeeeeed.

FYI some people laugh when they're excited.

I thought it was very creative, the wall thing. The ejecting Batpod thing was less believable, but made for a great story, and that's what movies are all about. Great story. What work of fiction doesn't have leaps in logic? I would even go so far to say that the Bible and the theory of evolution are two sides of an absurd coin. I want more Batpod!

In my theater people got excited and applauded when the Batpod ejected from the vehicle. And a lot of people cheered when he did the wall flip...I thought that was alright.

That's probably one of the few things that bothered me. Especially when they showed those two kids in a parked car. Batman could have easily blown them up and not even notice.

Exactly my point. How did he know there weren't people in those other parked cars?

Oh well...for the record, I thoroughly enjoyed the scene regardless, and both times I saw it (one at the Tuesday screening and another just tonight), the audience seemed to love the wall spin.

Can anyone explain to me in the scene where Batman comes exploding out of the alley onto the street and comes to a screeching halt, there are the spinning lights that twirl around and stop the exact moment he breaks.

at first i thought they were the tires, or the guns on the tires, but they dont seem to be revolving in the correct direction.

oh and i freaking loved the wall spin. wasnt expecting it, very well done.

I've seen it twice now, with completely different audiences and both times the crowd erupted in cheers when he went up the wall to turnaround. It was f'ing badass!

The same result i got as well . I'll see if I get the same reaction tonight when I go for my third spin .

Was it "Biker Boyz" when the guy did that kick off of a tree for no reason? That reminded me of that, a little.

Edit: But it was still awesome and the audience loved it.

What's more disturbing?

a) the Batpod going up a wall and flipping or...

b) the fact that you watched Biker Boyz?

Ready? Go!

whats everyones reaction to how the cords from the batpod flipped the truck over?I thought it was awesome, but something about it made it not convincingfor me.

I think the lights were the flames from the barrels of the guns mounted on the front tire. I think the tires actually spin two directions. That would explain how he did the "climb up the wall, immediately spin around and come back down" trick

For those who have a problem with the Batpod spin on the wall, I don't understand the hate. Is it so hard to just be a kid for once? It was cool. I loved it. When the Batpod burst out of the Tumbler, and it spun on the wall that was one of the few moments in my theater crowd where we all cheered. The movie is dark, and has very little light good fun, and when he blows out of the Tumbler and spins on that wall it just kicks ass! Plus, how is it cheesy? The Batpod's abilities are physically possible. How can something that is physically possible be cheesy? It would have taken him more time to stop and do a normal turn than to do what he did. So I think what he did was a cool moment in the movie.

I find it funny how people criticize things that they don't see as normal. Yeah, the maneuver was not your average day thing, but that doesn't make it cheesy. It makes it unique.

P.S. I really want a Batpod, cause I would have so much fun with it.:woot:

I guess some people think it's not "realistic" enough. :whatever:

I loved it. LOVED it.

Wasn't the spin supposed to look cheesy; but, in light of the action still be cool?

I thought it was so stupid; But, I loved it. Made batman more badass and more cool.

The Semi flip was just totally rockin' Everyone gasped at that part. Just seriously Chills.

And the Batpod Ejecting was too damn cool!!!!!

The wall flip didn't bother me. If you think that's cheesy, watch the Batmobile drive up the wall in Batman Forever. :whatever:

What the hell is wrong with you people?

*****ing about the batpod scene, one of the arguably coolest action scenes in a movie in a long time?

You people have become way too jaded. I think you need a break from the internet.

on my IMAX showing, people started cheering and clapping when the turning of the truck started, and they exploded when batman did that flip with the pod!! it was amazing!!

This had me wondering also...I still don't see how it was physically possible. But the awesome thing about it is that it was probably mechanical and not CG from what I've been hearing about this scene.

I love that this film put the much needed "how'd they do that?" factor in there. Too much stuff you see in movies today is obviously CG and doesn't really have any 'wow' factor at the end of the day. Not that I'm bashing CG (where would superhero movies in general be without it?), but it's so much cooler when you see the real thing.

The more I think about this movie...the more I love it and want to see it over and over. I've already seen it twice and I've never seen a movie more than once in the theater (on purpose anyway). I think I'll go see it in Imax again in a couple of weeks or so, when the crowds die down. Damn, what a great movie.

Yeah.. Kids playing around, kids having some icecream.. come on

edit: and I loved the Batpod! The trick at the wall was a bit too much but who cares..

He does seem to enjoy his property damage.

The Batpod was cool, but as weird escape vehicles go, The Batmissle was cooler. Much cooler.

Here's my crowds reaction to overall chase scene:

-Some laughs during the "Is that a bazooka?" part.
-Small amount of gasps when the tumbler ran into the trash truck and when the tumbler took the rocket intended for the swat car.
-Some applause when the Bat-pod emerged.
-HUGE response when the trailer flipped. It was kind of unexpected I guess because you don't fully understand why he has cables attached to the truck until it flips. I don't think people were expecting it because it really got a big response. Even heard some "NO ****ING WAY"s in the crowd.
-The wall scene also got a huge response. Some laughter, but more claps. My buddy next to me actually exclaimed "What the ****? Badass!". I think that also caught most people off guard.

As for the original intention of the post, it IS kind of reckless, however, I liked it no matter what. The way I watch action films is to turn my brain on during dialogue and turn it off during action. Of course, somethings are just too glaring to overlook (I'm looking at you Die Hard 4), but nothing was glaring about any of the action scenes.

I loved the Batpod flip on the wall.

When that happened, combined with the the semi flipping over, my theater roared and screamed so loudly that I almost literally went deaf. Even the kids were chanting Batman's name.

It's also safe to say that 95% of my theater jumped up in excitement.

PS - I need to see the scene in which the Tumbler looks to be totally defeated, but then the Batpod emerges, again. There was also a huge reaction to that too.

when it happened in our IMAX, everyone cheered for the flip but when the Bat-Pod did the spin, i literally screamed out Woah!!!:brucebat:
