Maybe if Battleship was based on a Comic Book...people in here would feel differently about this movie? Maybe?

It has nothing to do with it being based on a board or the fact if it was based on a comic or not. The story is the same rehashed crap with the same damn special effects as Transformers with acting probably worse than that movie (debatable for now.) If you honestly think this movie looks enjoyable and entertaining you should really save your 12 bucks and pop in Transformers, Independence Day, Battle LA (?) etc etc.

And for the record, I saw there was talk about this being compared to a video game like Halo. I'm pretty sure just the first Halo game itself has more depth in it's story than this movie will.

Eh, you have point. I like the Avenger's trailer well enough and think that BS looks and will be terrible but visually the trailers aren't much different.

They both look like big, loud dumb films. I just think that The Avengers looks like a better version of a big loud dumb film.

I was thinking of someone new. It's obviously stunt casting. It's not like Rihanna is going to put that many seats in the theaters. In fact, I don't think anyone in this cast has that much pull.

I think that would make people angry. Imagine Timmy going to watch Transformers 4 and it turns out that no Transformers were featured at all.

There's nothing in the Avengers film that looks like a Transformers film in terms of CGI to me.
