Bayonetta 2

Well, I downloaded and played the demo. I had never played the first one so I went into it as a newbie to the franchise. I have to say I found it really, really fun and I will be getting both the original and Bayonetta 2 hopefully this week. I hope to become better at the game because the quicktime events took me by surprise. You see, I'm an oldschool gamer back in an era where Quicktime events weren't even a thought. I just need to get used to this new style of game mechanics.

P.S. How about Bayonetta for the next Smash Bros. game or DLC to add onto the current one for the WiiU?

Just a warning if you are looking to do Bayo 1 before Bayo 2, there are some real BS quick time events in 1. And the demo only touches on how fun a game Bayonetta 2 is.

Oh poopy...quicktime events are new territory for me as I've only really played old school games, Sims, Monster Hunter and a few Elder Scrolls games. I'll have to look out for those things in Bayonetta 1.

Bayonetta for Smash would be awesome, but as I said before, the likely hood is low. She's still a third party character despite the situation around B2, and Nintendo seems to really be interested in adding 3rd party characters from storied game series (see Sonic, Pac Man, Mega Man, and Snake). Unless they outright buy the IP I don't think there's a real chance. And even then, maybe not. They do own the Wonderful 101 outright after all, and it got zero love in Smash.

it got some trophies, but yeah, it should've gotten more attention than just that.

What!? It got trophies? First I heard, need pics

There aren't that many. But since they instakill you and drop your score, they get really, really frustrating. Bayonetta (1 and 2) is still an awesome game.

I don't even remember any QTEs in Bayonetta. Guess I'll have to replay it then.

Oh trust me, they're in Bayonetta 1, at times they were fine, but other times they were frustrating. And I have good reaction time, so when I miss them I get angry.

Finished it, did the first time through on 2nd Climax. I'll write more elaborate thoughts later, but quick and dirty overview: improved a lot of things from the original, I would say more or less perfected the flow and move of it. Suffers some minor flaws, but in a similar way that the first did as well. I won't call it better than the first at this point, because I want to do another quick run through the first since it's been so long, but it's at least at the same level. GOTY for me, pretty easily, nothing else really comes close. Great having this and Korra so close together, great dose of character action games that we've been dry on for awhile.

I wouldn't say that Bayo 2 is better than Bayo 1, but more refined. That, and I think the color choices makes things much clearer (I'm going to say this was probably Nintendo's influence).

I think that's fair to say. I still haven't had a chance to sit down and play the first again, but I think I'd put them on fairly even ground. But it's obvious that under Nintendo, Platinum had a better budget and time table than they did under Sega. Not that the first game looked bad or anything like that, but this one definitely has some of that Nintendo polish.

Is there going to be a Bayonetta 3?

Who knows. I haven't seen any numbers, but it isn't a blockbuster, but I don't think Nintendo was expecting it to be. It sounds like it sold better than Wonderful 101. You never quite know with Nintendo.

It may not sell, but everyone who's played it (including me) agrees it's a fantastic title, and it's getting nominated for a BUNCH of awards, including numerous GOTY awards. And I can guarantee she'll win for at least one of those GOTY's...

I don't expect Bayonetta 3. I'm just happy Bayonetta 2 happened, since it was very close to not happening.

prior to x-mas it hasn't sold, now that people have bought a Wiiu due to smash the are seeking mature titles. I'm kinda hoping that the specific people will buy Bayonetta 2 like the girl in the video above was told how great it was & the other Wiiu titles that we're actually done well like Ninja Guiden directors cut & possibly deus Ex Human revolutions for the Wii u which were aimed at a mature audience as well.

But that's all one can do . is hope they look at those games which were doe well from people that actually want mature titles like Bayonetta 2 like her & pick them up. cause those were the few games that were done well. oh and there's still Devils third on the way.

How has it sold compared to other wii U games? Any chance Nintendo would help out again given that it's getting nominated for GOTYs.

That won't be enough for Nintendo's board of directors . They need certain sale's numbers to justify it. So people that have Wii u's due to smash & the Amiibo's that want mature games that want Bayo 2 better move their ass's if they want a sequel to this.

If Bayonetta gets a ton of GOTY awards, I could potentially see Nintendo attempt to cash in on that notoriety with a Bayo 3. Then again, I could also see nothing happening with Bayonetta ever again.

Between pining for Bayonetta 2 on other systems, or wondering if there will be a Bayonetta 3, half the time I feel like the actual game gets overshadowed unfortunately

The best we can hope for is the 3DS Jeanne spinoff Kamiya mentioned.

Hard to blame people though. I'm super glad Bayonetta exists and everything, and I think everyone knows it wouldn't without Nintendo, however you have to admit this was an astonishingly bad deal for gamers.

Asking fans of the first game or this genre in general to buy an overpriced dead console that very likely will see no more games of this type on it, nor major third party support of any kind really is a huge, HUGE ****ing ask. Doubly so if you're not into Nintendo games, then you're literally buying the console for a single game. Plus I imagine most people wouldn't want to play this game on Nintendo's dumb GamePad, so there's probably another $50 they have to she'll out for the normal controller. For most people, Bayonetta 2 isn't a $60 dollar game, it's like a $400 dollar game. Can't blame people for being salty about this one.

Now, Bayo 2 is obviously an amazing game, but is it worth all that bull**** that goes along with it? Taking one look at the nonexistent sales numbers, it would seem the answer for the vast majority of people out there is a pretty strong, "No."
