The Dark Knight BD Live Chat with Christopher Nolan

Awesome!

I totally had to pee too.....just think.....we might have been peeing at the same time!

:ikyn

Wait. The 'I have to pee' comment was actually Nolan? :lmao:

Chat goes way too fast even when I'm typing shorthand.

He felt it peculiar shooting Batman during the dance club/disco scene where he confronts Maroni.
You means there's even MORE of these pathetic questions? :o

Peculiar? In that, "This is weird, we're filming Batman in a place where people are supposed to party?"

this is such a dissapointment
If you don't like it then quit watching and clogging the thread with your whining.

And I loved the humor... Were you surprised how cool Eric Robers made the character? Answer: Yes, Eric. :D

Why didn't he just do a commentary track and be done with it.

Y'know like a real man.

:cmad:

He's no Sam Peckinpagh! ;-)

Yes sir! Doesn't seem like his style? I mean, he's always so polite and such a gentleman. I expect that kind of language from Kevin Smith or Tarantion, but Nolan? Totally hilarious!

any question about the sonar scene? And the boat scene?
The questions being answered are going along with the film so those will be answered when we get there. The chat has paused where Batman abducts Maroni from the club and is interrogating him in the alley.

Well, if you read certain not so well known articles Nolan uses the F word constantly. That gentlemen thing is a front.

HAHA! That's very cool. Well, he at least knows how to present himself as a gentleman in public. Smith and Tarantino just don't give a flying *****! :hehe:

I highly suspect he did the community commentary just for the lulz. I mean, where else would he have to answer, "Do you like Star Wars?" :funny:

Nah, Smith would have been like, "I need to take a piss, dudes."

And yeah, Nolan always seems so proper, which is why I :lmao: when Time quoted him as saying in the editing room, "Have Emma take a look at this to make sure I didn't f*** it up."

He says he's at a WB office in Burbank now. I thought'd they'd let him do it somewhere more comfortable sounding.

He also said he'd love to do a horror film. That I'd like to see.

I have a creative screenwriting magazine article in which Nolan uses the 'F' word numerous times. Gentleman? I think not.

Haha,this sounds awesome.

From the sounds of it,Nolan didn't wanna be there :p

I missed the answer to that question. Only caught the first sentence before the text scrolled up in less than a second. Wish I had seen it instead of the dumb questions that were asked following it (didn't type a lot of these since the answers are obvious to anybody that has been following the production of this film).

Yep, he's definitely got a sense of humor.

Q: Where are you commentating from tonight?
A: I am in an office at Warner Home Video in Burbank.

Q: How involved do you get in the overall sound design? Do you have certain sounds in mind?
A: I get very involved with the sound of my films. It is an area of film making that i very much enjoy.

He'd love to do a horror movie but "it would have to be the right script."

On why Bruce didn't object when Dent claimed to be Batman: Bruce immediately understand what Dent is doing - trying to flush out the Joker.

Q: How long were you in Post Production
A: 9 months

Q: Did the Batmobile really need to be destroyed?
A: We intended to do so in Batman Begins but fell in love with the vehicle and could not bring ourselves to do it. This time we were determined to follow through on our threat.

Both Nolan and Obama using the F word? Totally, totally awesome.

Man...a LOT of these questions wouldn't need to be asked if the people watched the extras or interviews/making of articles on the film. But I guess they thought they were needed or else no one would ask anything.

Nolan/WB after BB: "Oh alright. You get to live another day, Mr. Tumbler, but NEXT TIME!"

Tumbler: *quivers*

When he was preparing for them during the Democratic primaries, Obama was recorded saying, "I don't consider this to be a good format for me, which makes me more cautious. I often find myself trapped by the questions and thinking to myself, 'You know, this is a stupid question, but let me … answer it.' So when Brian Williams is asking me about what's a personal thing that you've done [that's green], and I say, you know, 'Well, I planted a bunch of trees.' And he says, 'I'm talking about personal.' What I'm thinking in my head is, 'Well, the truth is, Brian, we can't solve global warming because I f---ing changed light bulbs in my house. It's because of something collective'."

Firetruck on fire: Provides a very potent image of anarchy.

On who came up with the idea of flipping the semi: It was in the script early on. But it took many months for Corbould an dhis team to devise how to do this for real.

Someone asking how they flipped the 18 wheeler (RRRGH IT'S IN THE EXTRAS)

It took 3 weeks to film the entire chase scene.

Someone asking whose idea was it to use the Batpod in this film (AGAIN IN THE EXTRAS), but he did state he sat on the Batpod and that it was not very comfortable.

On why there was no musical accompaniment during the chase: We decided to challenge ourselves to lean on sound effects rather than the music [for this scene]
