Be honest. Who else was surprised that this movie was awesome?!

I got excited when the teaser debut, but once the trailers and TV spots were released I got the sense that the movie was gonna be crap. Yet, I still decided to go see it this afternoon. I WAS SHOCKED! The movie was awesome! It's not better than the original 1990 live-action adaptation, but its definitly the next best thing.

Kudos to everyone involved!

To be honest, I didn't have any high or low expectations. I watched the turtles movies and the original cartoon and thought the latter shows sucked but I went in to see this movie to be entertained and I got what I wanted.

Those tv spots and the awful Mom joke turned me off for sure but now with many saying it's "awesome" i'm reconsidering seeing it.

Go see it. You'll get what you paid for.

Its not better than the original film, it is better than any other CGI movie in the past decade though. Its also pretty sweet anyway.

I know, man! Those TV spots were horrible. One of the worse I've ever seen. Now, that I've seen the movie I realize that the person in charge of marketing for this movie should be fired.

TMNT was better than Superman Returns. :o

Oh totally man...after seeing the Teaser I was sooo blown away! Buuuut 1/2 way through the Trailer when Mikey burps, I looked to my buddies and said "Aw christ...here we go....:( some of the commericals looked cool, but I was still skeptical...

..however it was last week when I saw all the movie clips that IGN offered online that I quickly was changing my tune....again, LoL, I STILL was sort of skeptical but the clips made me hope that the rest of the movie had their tone. It did. :D

They should have gotten better dudes to cut the 1st Trailer I think...9 times out of 10 the commericals are so awesome and the movies are crap...but in this case it was sort of the other way around LoL...weird!

Seeing as it was more in the animation department rather than live action, I knew it would be good. I just didn't think it would be even better than I thought .

I love how its 50-50 so far! This thread is as divided as the nation itself!

I'll admit it, up until Kevin's panel at wondercon and the clips he showed us, I feared for the release of this film. TMNT was the first thing I got into when I moved to the US, and it was a really big thing to me growing up. After hearing his thoughts, answers and seeing his clip, I was stoked...

I came out of the theater this afternoon like this :D and I'm still like that right now. I even put it on my HTC wizard so I can watch tidbits of it when I'm out and waiting in lines or whatever.

I figured it would fall into the territory of being the second best turtles movie, Munroe seemed to have a genuine appreciation for the turtles. The monster plot was a bit cumbersome but the movie is fun, action packed and restores the name of the TMNT franchise after the last two klunkers.

Yes, I was suprised. I loved it. :woot:
Second only to the first movie. I need to watch it again at the theatre.

My older brother said he was totally caught off guard by how good the animation was. He said he was expecting some d-list crap like studios have been throwing at us for years now, but it was actually really good. It wasn't quite Pixar quality, but then again, what is? It was one turtally awesome movie! (yes, that was a horrible pun)

i knew it was gonna be good, but didnt know it was gonna be that good. so i admit i was surprised, cant wait for the next one and the dvd

It's one of my favorite films of the year. :) (no. Honestly, it is!)
I loved everything about it...and I'm so freakin excited it did so well at the box office. I smell a sequel!!! =)

I enjoyed TMNT as well. There were flaws of course. I didn't like the character designs for the humans at all, and some of the action was a bit too video-gamey in feel. However, there were enough funny parts and cool fight scenes to make it worth a matinee ticket price.

Not a fantastic movie, but better than what a lot of the critics are saying and still fun to watch. Rating 7/10.

TMNT was better than Superman Returns. :o
I can definately agree with you on that.

I can say I was pleasantly surprised just how good this film actually was when I saw the film last week. As I felt the film had arguably did it's job in re-establishing not only the TMNT universe, as well as it's familiar cast of characters, but also it's goal in not retreading over ground that was had already been explored in past films, and pushed forward giving us a whole new realm of storytelling that was largely unknown to the general public.

All in all, I felt it was definately an improvement over where the other sequels decided to go, and also a film any TMNT fan can be proud of.

To be honest, I was really excited for this movie and it was a huge letdown. It really hurts myself to say this but it's the truth (to me): the movie sucked. Two big reasons... the story was pretty much awful, and the biggest, CGI. I thought the CGI sucked. I can't stand CGI. Anytime they make a movie in CGI it's like a cheat and to make the whole movie in CGI made me feel like nothing that happened counted. Hard to explain
but yeah, disappointed
