at some point in the film-- a flashback or something.. but at least towards the end..
(like when Beast stabs him with the cure darts-- maybe quote some shakespeare about villainy) :woot:

It would have been nice to see them have a scene or two together, especially considering they were the two best characters in the movie.

"Where shall we meet again? In lightning, thunder and rain?"
"When the hurley-burley's done, when the battle's lost and won"
"Where the place?"
"Upon the heath"
"And there to meet with... Macneto"
:p (Three witches, Macbeth)

Lol Beast simply should have more dialogue in the whole movie. Some more personal, at least.

since it was a movie with very little character development, they could have saved time in places and have certain people know each other already. As good as the the dialogue of Logan and Beast introducing themselves to each other, could have just cut straight to the point. I would have thought Logan would have met Beast atleast once over the few years he's been at the mansion.

but heres what i'm actually trying to say.

Instead of Angel being a complete stranger to the X-men, why not just have him already know them. Since the movie doesn't have any time for character development anyway, instead of walking in and cheesily saying "I heard this was a save place for mutants", just have it so they already know him. It almost works better in such a fast short movie, with them already knowing him its like compressed character development.

enter scene, all the X-men are in that living room, Warren walks in. STorm says "Warren.." and add 1 extra line said by Worthington Senior before Warren jumps outa the window saying "Warren, its a better life. Its what we all want. What are you gunna do? go back to that school?"

Just some short brief lines can change alot.

then that would automatically make Warren part of the team, have a uniform ready and waiting for the Alcatraz fight.

That is a great idea and would have made a really good scene.

True, Beast definitely should have had more lines in general, especially about his struggle to deny the cure.

But whilst we are on the subject, I thought Storm should have had some dialogue with Jean. I mean she was her best friend; she didn't speak to her once in the entire film.

It's pretty understable, after Jean killed Xavier, Storm's friend/mentor/father. But I thought Storm should have at least confronted Jean, or something of that nature.

I guess it's just another thing the filmmakers didn't think entirely through... :whatever:

i think it was more a decision to make Storm more 'black and white' with her views. Comicbook Storm is often like that. But she also has compassion for her friends, and there wasn't enough of that side of her.

^That's what I mean. In X-Men TAS, in the "Dark Phoenix Saga" there is one line which sticks out in my head: Storm, to Beast referring to Jean, "she is like a sister to me".

Where was that bond in the film? If I had been a complete stranger watching X3, without any knowledge of the X-Men universe, I might have assumed that Storm and Jean had never met before.

Logan hasn't been there for years.

He was there for 48 hours in X-Men, left the team for what seems like a couple weeks to go up to Alkali Lake, then came back for a course of a few days in X2.

It's a matter of months between X2 and X-Men: The Last Stand. And in that time, Beast has been busy being appointed Secretary of Mutant Affairs and stuff like that. Probably hasn't had a chance to pay a visit to the mansion.

But if you had been a complete stranger who had seen X2, you'd know that they WERE friends, very good ones, but with everything going on (all of her family dying, the team falling apart, and her having to keep everything in order), she didn't have much time for bull****. Storm was in a position of all business.

But it seems like Storm was the closest out of all the team to Xavier. So when Jean, her supposed "friend" killed him, I would have thought Storm would go berserk and want to confront Jean.

Storm didn't have a chance to confront her until the final battle... when Storm was occupied with Callisto, other mutants, and then trying to find a way to stop Magneto and Pyro from destroying everyone with their car-nades.

Finally, when that was all done, Jean had become completely and totally possessed by Phoenix, and any attempt by Storm to confront Jean would have resulted in instant demolecularization, and an "Ororo Munroe" headstone next to Jean Grey, Scott Summer, and Charles Xavier, and Wolverine becoming the headmaster of the school.

I think Wolverine stole enough characterization from others (Cyclops) in this film, don't you? :p

WITH ALL THAT SAID, you're right, there should have been more shown by Storm to try to reach out to Jean. Storm may be black & white, but the Storm I know would never give up on Jean like that.

Storm, has more self control then that, she knows better then to let it get personal, as close as she was to Xavier, she was also close to jean, and she outstood the situation, of it being out of jeans control at this point, but, they knew they had to do what it took to stop the Phoenix,
it was never about getting revenge
plus, since jean seemed to be reaching out to Logan, she knew that he was the only one who would be able to get close enough kill her, anyway, storm, wouldn't of stood a chance againest the full power of the Phoenix lol

actually Storm does show concern for Jean; When Logan comes back to the mansion calling for Storm, she goes, "You found her?" the final battle where Phoenix unleashes her fury, Storm has a concern look on her face. I took that as Storm wanting to help her friend but she couldn't, when Kitty is looking at the headstones Storm comes up to her. I think some dialogue between them were tooken out...I think the scene should've went like this:
Kitty: I can't believe Jean is gone...we could've helped her, why did she ask Logan to kill her?
Storm: Well Kitty power corrupts and Jean knew that, she couldnt live with herself knowing that Phoenix could re-amerge and take its revenge out on us the students and possibly the world...Jean could've live to be a God but it was more important to her that she die human....

and on the deleted scene The X-Men board the jet Storm show's concern for Jean becuase she mentions her name instead of Logan ....

Not many mention this, but i think the biggest problem with X3 was giving Jean the ability to vaporize ppl instantly. It really does confine the character as far as having her interact with others or participate in battle.

Agreed.

But then she can turn her power off and on. And like we've already discussed in another thread, Phoenix only uses her powers against those who she feels is "trapping" her.

well, she uses it against Scott. And i dont think he tried to trap her.

good idea on shakespear quote ;p... To cure or Not to cure... That is the question

Umm...thats what he went to the encampment to see...where Jean was. Of course she would ask him if he succeeded in finding her.

IMO, I really didn't see a face expression of "concern", but the fact that Jean was destroying Alcatraz.

It's a shame, because since Storm wasn't even in the lab when Xavier mentioned that Jean had a duel personality by the name "Phoenix", then she doesn't know the name at all. Thus, she wouldn't have said "Phoenix" in her sentence. Ain't that amazing?
and on the deleted scene The X-Men board the jet Storm show's concern for Jean becuase she mentions her name instead of Logan ....
 All she said was "And Jean".

even though thas what she said, it still gives a little development that Storm is still concerned 4 her, jus like she mention Scott being the headmaster it still gave a little bit development to Scott n her....and who says Storm didnt kno abut Jean have a alter-ego named Phoenix??? Remember the writing 4 this movie wasnt that well thought out n sumtimes u have 2 draw ur own conclusions about certain characters in the film....

Not to sound like a pain in the ass, but I doubt that.

sum of u r makin as if Storm never cared 4 her!! she did the same thing in X2 "Jean are you okay" after that little battle she had with Cyclops n on a deleted scen from X2 while they were in the x-jet Storm said, "Jean...whas wrong?" and she had the same facial expression in both X2/X3.... all this is proof that Storm shows CONCERN!!! u dont have b emotional 2 show how much u care 4 sum1 i.e. Logan/Scott jus mentioning their name shows u care...

I'm not saying that she didn't care for her, just that she didn't show any affection.
