Superman Returns Because of the negativity, what if Singer didn't return for a sequel?

WRONG!!!
guarenteed he will come back, why, he's under contract...... they will have to pay him to break the contract, and they aren't going to waste any money....

Singer isn't under contract, only the actors are, and it's not an iron clad contract, it's a simple option deal to bring them back if the WB wants.

Let's just forget the author of this thread said Ratner could make a Superman film, huh?

Brett Ratner is a Hollywood tool with a paint-by-the-numbers style that I hate.

Ratner should stay away from anything not starring Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker.

Both Singer and Ratner need to stay the hell away from this character, and keep there lame ass writers away as well.

We restart, if I was in charge, which Im not, we would restart from the beginning. Atleast do a Superman: Year One.

Are you willing to wait the better part of a decade for it, though? I mean...do you think that we can save this series, in your mind, b/c I feel it's great...what you think?

Id wait a few years. This movie did not connect with the majority of the public, I know most on this board like it and it's tough to face up to, but Im sorry, its true.

I would wait a few years, and then restart the Superman franchise with a new cast and bring the character into the 21st century. Id even be willing to bargain with you, and KEEP the Donner Krypton/Brando Jor-El as the definitve Krypton, but restart everything after the ship is launched from Krypton in a Superman : Year One type of deal.

If Singer didn't return I'd say Supes might have a pulse, albeit a week one. WB needs to distance themselves from this as soon as they can, which basically means ****can this guy as soon as the DVD is released. And all of you barking about the Comic Con appearance of Singer, gimme a freakin' break. Do you expect them to admit this movie sucked while it's still dying in the theaters. It barely made more money than Prada for pete's sake. This is damage control only.

why Nick meyer? curious
He knows how to write dialog. He knows how to write dialog that iws damned good with thinking behind it. He knows how to craft good, engaging stories, and he can take something that is hokey entertainment and elevate it to great movie status.

You mean if jaded fanboys who don't get exactly what they want like when they ask their parents for stuff and get it cry loud enough, will Singer not return?

Ugh, if only there was a way to keep Brando and trash that insipid Disco Era crystal Krypton. I always hated that look. It's like a giant mirror ball. Update the whole thing and keep Brando and Ford as wonderful memories.

Im not fond of that look either, but I don't really care to see Krypton done over, I want the emphasis placed on Clark's human upbringing with the Kents, his true parents.

Well, they're BOTH his parents.....just b/c thy're dead doesn't mean they're not his real parents...

I'm very anxious for Comic Con because of Singer's return. In what sort of capacity will he be making his appearance? If it's on stage in front of a crowd like last year, it should be interesting to see the type of reaction he gets.

The Kents raised him, they made him the man that he is, I think the nurture over nature route should be taken IF there is a restart.

I am sure superman fans will be pissed of him because he delivered a FLOP. While x-men fans will be pissed because he left X3 for SR.

I say all the fans will throw rotten tomatoes and vegetables on him and his screenwriters.

SCREW Bryan singer. I want him to suffer and cry from now on. I want him to be humiliated. HAHAHAHHAHA

The only way that they can possibly overcome Singer's blunder is by making the next film a prequel.

If the next film highlights Supes before he leaves in search of Krypton, with solid story & action - they *may* be able to pull it off without a complete restart. I'd hate to wait another decade for a restart.

Just a thought.

instead of seeing Supes save a stupid plane.

That was the only good part of the movie.

They don't need to wait years to do a new movie. Just scrap this whole Reeve/Routh/origin idea and start over from square 1!! If they did a Supes movie right, it would make a ton of money.

Get a new guy that looks like Superman :supes: & not like Reeve. We all know who Supes is & where he comes from, so let's see some Superman action & blow s*it up!!

I would like to see some actual cameos of other superheros, not just mentions of gotham or whatever.

Don't think for one moment Singer isn't going to have a Xanax moment while he's up on stage (if he even shows). He's got to be dreading this with all the backlash this dip**** has garnered since the flop started. I'm very interested in hearing what happens to this overrated prick. I'm still thinking he'll have the sniffles that day and send in the screenwriters to take the bullet for him.

I hope Singer doesn't come near another Superman film, I hate his guts and his little lackey's. Singer should just go direct the Wolverine film and stay away from the Man of Steel. That bastard.

You have given me no choice but to concur.

*reads own signature*

I concur with my signature......... people are stupid

i think the only time Singer doesnt return for the sequel is if WB let him go.

Superman Returns symbolizes the gospel of Jesus Christ

"The Father becomes the son, and the son becomes the father."

"You wrote that the world doesn't need a savior, but every night i hear people cry out for one."-Superman in Superman Returns

Superman equals God and Christ
Lex equals Satan
kryptonite equals sin of mankind
Jason equals son of God
Lois and Richard represent mary and joseph and christ's disciples

unlike the real jewish messiah, because jesus was perfect and sinless, Superman himself is flawed and in need a Savior since he is five years late on child support payments

Our world needs a messiah and bryan singer recognizes this even though he is a homosexual, and i pray for all homosexuals and i love them as Christ does

Don't forget what lex said, "gods are selfish beings who fly around in little red capes and dont share their power with mankind" and kitty's retort, "your not a god lex"

so the gospel is very apparent in the film, and there is symbolism thoughtout the entire film including the death and resurrection

dont take my word for it, read the Gospel of john and see the film, let them speak for themselves

The good news that we are in need of a savior, and that Christ came, suffered and died for our sins and rose again is portrayed in the film

fanboys amaze me...notice they say the exact same things everyday..nothing new to the table..
