Superman Returns Because of the negativity, what if Singer didn't return for a sequel?

I want to see Nicholas Meyer (writer/director Star Trek 2 & 6, writer of Star trek 4) write it.

Actually that's a great idea.

Judging from his interviews and commentaries- he seems to have a strong grasp on how to make commercial movies.

Also he seems to have a strong grasp on classic movies, which I'm starting to wonder about when it comes to people like Brian Singer.

I'm thinking Mr. Singer's idea of classic movie is the original "Superman."

And while that's a great movie, there are a few other ones he should probably sit through before attempting to make his own.

fanboys amaze me...notice they say the exact same things everyday..nothing new to the table..

Your really have no room to talk :down

I don't think Singer will take any questions off the cuff. They'll be fielded ahead of time, and even then, he'll probably give a smartass answer.

I would prefer Singer not come back, and that they do a reboot. I also feel that Clark should have both parents, and they should be a shade younger than what is shown in Singer's film.

I am disappointed with so many aspects of the film that this is really the wrong thread to list them. However, I do believe that Singer showed he was in way over his head with his lackluster soulless film.

I do feel Singer will be back as WB has invested so much money into his vision of what he feels Superdaddy should be.

The franchise needs new direction with a reboot from someone who will incorporate other aspects of Superman other than just the Donner film. The Donner film was good for its time, but its time has long passed, and its time to move on.

singer did a follow up to donner, the sequal will be his... im sick of this sucks and it was that bad... half of you would know your head from your ass if your mother didnt tell you so... basically it was a good movie not the best gbut way better then ok... slipping sales well who cares, seriously im not a WB executive so i could gives a rats @ss bout it.... its sad people think spidey is good, im sorry but spidey bores me and so does his storys... batman is cool, but people are so used to campy marvel movies now that its sick :(

RANT OFF!

I'd prefer if you didn't bash Spider-Man just because SR didn't bode well with the general public. It's not about the characters that bore, or interest people. It's how the filmmakers tell the story, and how true they stay to the source material. Singer made a wonderful movie with Superman as a dead-beat dad of an illegitimate child, who spied on Lois Lane and her fiancee. A wonderful rendition of the character which was intended by the many comic book writers of Superman, and of course the creators themselves Shuster and Seigel. Right?

Plus, bashing Spidey is not a good idea, considering that the board you are posting in today, used to be one where only Spider-Man fans posted, and it was called Spider-Man Hype. So, please. Let the B.O. numbers speak for themselves, and try to be a little tolerant of SR's critique.

This thread implies Singer cares what any of us think be it negative or positive.........he doesn't:confused: ......im sure he'll just buy another Donner statue for his shrine and prepare Superman Returns part deux where Brainiac has a kickass land development scheme up his sleeve:p

Something tells me one of the stipulations of Singer being there was that his questions would be safe ones, and that he would be able to field the reporters.

I am curious if he or his whack pack read the Hype Boards. I know they probably surf BT's forum at The Planet, but I wonder if they check out this board. BT's is a bit more receptive to Singer's film.

Personally, if he wants to know what he did wrong, he should come here. Of course, I really don't know how he can get rid of the kid Jason. That's a travesty that should never have occurred. If they had to bring in someone for Superman to mentor, it should have been Kara, and not some 5 year old version, and not until a 2nd or 3rd film.

Singer dropped the ball, but I don't think his ego will own up to it, and fix everything properly by abdicating his directorship of the sequel or getting rid of his whack pack writing team.

I loved X-Men The last stand. It was so releaving to finally just have action, the hobby psychotic twist was done so much in the two first it was not needed in the last. There is just so much EMO one can take, no one can claim they did not get to know the main characters of X-men in the two first movie. THerefore there was no need for moore deeply insight into Wolverine and the others, the last movie was a finish focusing on action and thank good for that.

Brett Ratner did a good job, he came aboard just a couple of weeks before filming started and gave us ten times the much action then SR. Now SR is more then action (Superman The Movie is my all time favourite), but sadly Singers vision did not suit me so much. I loved Brandon Routh and the love story aspect (but Lois was a weak part), and they had Spacey, whos magnificent (but i like the modern age Lex far moore).

So i could easily go for Ratner over Singer in a sequel, but I can think of other directors I'd rather want.

He'll care if the WB tells him to care. :p

WB wants to please the fanbase...they've learned from their past mistakes wid the old Batman franchise and TRUSTED Singer to make a movie to satisfy not just the general public, but the fanboys as well...as Chris Nolan did with Batman Begins. However apparently based on the BO returns, Singer failed on both ends.

(Not with me though, I loved SR.)

Im not sure WB cares about the fans.we are the bankers IMO even the ones that moan all through production still go to see it just so they can say they were right
Getting a movie that attracts the GA teens and young adults that don't care about Superman is the key

The only negative remarks that SR has received is on this board. Look at the reviews and other websites. Too many Fanboys here crying about every detail.

Singer's not coming back. This is a stillborn concept. There is too ****ing much wrong with what was done to fix what we've been handed in a sequel. If you thought the BO was bad for this POS just think what a sequel would get cause there's a lot of people that wouldn't spend their money on another go around of ****forbrains part 2.

On another note I wonder if Singer will scream like the little ***** Superman did when the tough questions start in. I can see him on set no no like this OOOOOOOOOOOOaaaaahooooooOOOO in a really high pitched voice.

Gosh I guess you missed the BO take on this thing?

What kind of a person joins a message board just to be negative? Seriously 100+ posts and 95% is all negative bashing.

You enjoy doing this?
