Superman Returns Because of the negativity, what if Singer didn't return for a sequel?

Yes. The majority of people who love this film are on websites such as SHH. I haven't been to Blue Tights in awhile so I couldn't tell you about them.

If anything, Ive come to fine alot of people think the movie is simply OK, if not flat.

Imo there's gonna be another Superman film regardless , simply because there's too much potential money to walk away from .They didn't decide to stop making Batman films after B&R .

What will be intresting to see is whether they decide to do a sequel, or restart the whole thing with a new Superman actor and director.

You can still make a great sequel that will bring tons of money and make it a great movie. Just forget about Donner`s Superman and make it your own. You layed the foundations for great stories to be told. But there are things you shouldn`t touch:

1) Don`t make Jason White a Superboy. Nobody wants to see this. NOBODY. Superman doesn`t need a Robin. He doesn`t need to teach Jason, whatever. Remember that these are movies about Superman. Not about Jason becoming Superman II. Save Superman being a father for the third movie. Don`t make it a family problems movie. Superman is more than this.

2)I think that the worst thing of SR is that it is anticlimatic. Whenever there are disasters, we know Superman is going to save it and solve everything. We all knew Superman was going to save Lois , Richard and the kid in the boat. We all knew Lois was going to save Superman from Luthor`s stab. We all knew Jason was Superman`s son. Thats why in my opinion, STM is better. `Cause he fails in the end. There`s a climax! Lois dies. Nobody would ever predict that. Lois Lane dies! What does he do? The impossible to save his love. In this movie? Its too predictable.So, we`re just there because of the cool factor. Make Superman fail in the next movie. Make him inspire people, not just save them. Just saving people is too one-dimensional. Nobody wants to see this. Make this movie personal. About the idea of Superman. About the idea of being a hero, not Jesus Christ.


3) Give Superman a villain other than Luthor and Zod. I`d say no to Brainiac too cause his story is simillar to Luthor`s plan in Superman Returns. Also, a great Brainiac story has already been told in the Animated Series. Create Something originial. No more Donner influences. No more Zod and people from Krypton.
Heres something i came up in 5 mins.

I`d start the sequel with a plane accident. A plane piloted by Richard. To make a parallel between the scene in Superman Returns and the sequel. In the end, Superman is late. Richard White dies. But Luthor is the savior. He saves him. He puts bionic parts, powered by Kryptonite.

People will question Superman. Lois will. Did he wanted to save Richard or not because of his relationship with her? THe audience will have doubts.

Meanwhile, Luthor wants to control Richard. His initial plan was to make Richard destroy Superman. Thats why he saved him. Because of his previous thing with Lois. A great enemy for Superman. But Richard disobeys him. He still is a good guy.

Now comes the good part:

Richard thinks he can have Lois back. BUT he doesn`t have the sense of touch anymore. He cant feel anything. A touch, a kiss from his loved ones. Like what happened in the Animated Series. He discovers Lois loves Superman, that Jason is in fact Superman`s kid. He gets furious, wants to kill everybody, kill Superman for making him become what he is now, kill Luthor, kill Lois for dumping him. NOW thats a real story. With emotional moments. Superman is the real hero for being a hero to everybody since the beggining. He never went to the dark side. He wanted to save Richard. He still wanted in the end.

In the end, Lois find out Superman is Clark, we have a proposal from Clark and thats it. Wedding in the third movie. But things don`t look good. Darkseid is planning an invasion. Will Superman survive this? Can he have a future with Lois and raise a family normally?

We have a known Superman villain, great emotional drama and questions. Happy ending and a great set-up for the third last movie.

In the third movie, make it like Hell on Earth. Parallels with WW II, Apokolips being like a huge concentration camp, ruled by a dictator: Darkseid. He wants to make the same thing with Earth. Darkseid finds out Clark is Supes. Superman in the end kills Darkseid in the greatest battle ever put on screen. Gives up of his powers because he violated his most precious vow. Just like what happened in "Whatever happened to the man of tomorrow", one of the best Superman stories EVER told. Superman is now human, raises a family with Lois, the people from Apokolyps are free. End of a great Trilogy.

A dream? Yeah....my dream...

Singer, please read this. There`s still hope for Superman.
