Meh, could've be worse. He could have had nipples and a ridiculously large codpiece.

ok heres the first pic of my batman begins cowl. It is still in its early stages but is coming along just fine. This is the first time I have sculpted and have been finding it tough at time, but I will power on through and get it done. I am going to take more photos over the next couple of days as i am waiting to get my digital camera up and running. The pic i took was with my mobile phone so the quality is not great.

^So.....not puffy right.....

When people talked about it being puffy the were almost always referring to it bunching up when the arms were raised. It still does that. When his arms are lowered, it obviously won't.

Well done. Your first sculpt? Wow! Wish I could say my first sculpted cowl/mask looked that good back in 1984!!
Keep it up..and please keep us updated on your sculpt.

I'll be showing mine in November....full suit complete by December...Cape and all!

Great work David, your work never ceases to amaze me. I am really looking forward to seeing your progress on the cowl and belt.

E-mail me when you have a minute, I might be getting some "things" that would be of interest to you.

cracks cracks cracks.........ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. It was going sooooo well with the sculpt but then a few cracks apeared , so I filled them in and they went away, good I thought, back on track am I.......sorry watched star wars last night, talking like Yoda I am. Anyway had a post over at BOTB and have been pointed in the direction of oil based clay less drying and giving more time to sculpt. I am looking at starting over but will see over the next few days just how much time I have, I may even get it done before the rest of it drys out. I do think the cracking is because of air between the layers of clay i put on the head cast, we shall see.

damian, your stuff is looking really cool, why not put it in its own thread for people to see?

good idea....thought it would go well with davids thread as their is not many thread in this forum about creating costumes. I tend to have most of my stuff over at Brotherhood of the Bat.

I will create a new thread.

You're more than welcome to keep it here also. I think it's comming along great and it'll be nice once I post mine to do some comparisons and see how we each deal with certain areas, details and so on. :)

David

David, could u post all of your Batman suit pics in on new reply?
I'm getting mighty tired of looking them up all the time.

I dig that new cowl on the block.
How is your cowl coming along, David?

The end suit they make out of it looks stupid.
But this sculp is looking pretty mean 2 me

It's certainly a pretty unique cowl that has potential, but needs a little refinement. Good general shape though, and nothing like the Begins one, and not much like any of the other films' also.
