The Dark Knight BEGINS Sequel to be "Darker"

Compare that devotion and proper treatment of Batman fans compared to...

Bryan Singer's own words: "I don't think I have ever read a Superman comic"
Damn Singer and his sequel to Superman II.:down:down

Actually, the thing I hate most about the new Superman Returns movie is the new term people have created for it: "requel".

When it comes to Batman the darker the better.......
I wait for the day that a Batman film has an 18 certificate and tells the true story......

That'd rip the Batman franchise in half. It'd **** it up, to be honest.

lol I hadn't heard that.

They SHOULD be making a sequel to TAS is what they should be doing

BB2 being darker? Sounds good. It would be even better if Gotham was full of gothic and retro-style.

But as I think, BB was awesome in vissual style.

Hope Nolan will choose The Killing Joke and The Long Halloween as the most importand comics for BB sequel.

I thought that Warner's said that they realized that they messed up having different production desighn for all the sequels in the previous series, so they are keeping the production design the same in this new set of movies.

I could be wrong, but I thought that was what they said.

Well Singer, and even though I plan on enjoying Returns is a complete nimb rod. All that vague history crap is harder to figure out then rocket science.

Hopefully when the movie comes out it wont be as complicated. I'm hoping the first few minutes are a quick recap of what's basically in continuity for this film (he comes to earth, grows up and becomes Superman, meets Luthor, puts him in jail, leaves earth) and then from there we can stop caring whether it's a sequel or not and just enjoy the story. I know a lot of people wanted a restart, but would you really want to see Superman's origin told again? We've seen it so many times in so many mediums, unlike Batman whose origin was usually told as a quick flashback and nothing more.

But anyways, to stay on the topic at hand, Batman + Darker = awesome movie! I'll bet this means we'll see Harvey Dent scarred at the end of the second one, since that'll definatley be a very dark, tragic moment.

Sounds good. I'm happy about the sequel being headed in a darker direction and not that of a popcorn flick. The news about it being accurate to the comics is great. I'm hoping for some references to The Killing Joke and/or The Man Who Laughs.

^What he said.

I'm just hoping for the idea of a darker batman. I would like to see him more of a keen intelligent being and detective rather than just a fighter, also the idea of him becoming more serious and more of arrogant jerk. Also they could start showing him becoming obsessed with being batman and his work. one things for sure they need to avoid the excessive humour otherwise we may get another "Batman Forever" and Batman & Robin" he he. If they were to introduce Harvey Dent the need to show the bond between Batman, Gordon, And Dent and would not destroy him until the movie afterwards.

How has Batman been shown to NOT be intelligent?

What I mean is that they should start showing his detective side trying to solve a case maybe even becoming obsessed and restless.

How is obsession a sign of intelligence?

Ok, so becomming obsessed. Because, I have certainly seen him be both intelligent and a detective within the batman films. Maybe not to the extent of the comic book, but thats because those are individual issues where they can focus on one or two things...a movie has to tell a MUCH larger story. Not always enough time for an in depth look at every angle of the character.

Thats great news ... Hopefully the sequel will be better.

I hope they dont go cheesie mode anymore. Batman 1, and Batman Begins were the were only quality Batman movies. Two-Face and Riddler were kewl!

Friday, May 12, 2006 - 11:24 AM CENTRAL TIME: Got the following tidbit in today I thought may interest you all. A few tidbits from a friend of BOF that sort of comes straight from the horses mouth, so to speak (he explained how, I just can't tell you all the details). Anyhow, expect:

- "They" pretty much have got the plot for the film outlined.
- Nolan has been re-going over all of the various Batman comics even more to comb for fine details.
- They (Nolan and co.) want it to be even darker than BEGINS.
- The studio is supportive of creating something as accurate to the Batman comic books as possible and less about it being some kind of summer popcorn "mega-hit."
Sounds good to me people. And to WB, don't worry, just let Nolan and crew roll with it! I know I trus 'em...

Nolan & his crew understand Who & What BATMAN stands for . A Darker BATMAN .  :batman:

Just like Timm & his gang.

BB Batman was both intelligent and strong, he even slightly used his detective skills - these will of course improve in time as Batman becomes more experienced. The Arrogant jerk was a facade, that was obvious. With Bale at the helm Batman will always come across as a very serious intense character - no matter what happens around him.

As others have said, i also like the idea of Bruce becoming 'obsessed' with being Batman. Even to the point where he's not eating or sleeping. He can spend days upon days in the cave analyzing clues and whatnot, and not even stopping to take a shower. Kinda like Batman becomes a 'disease' to him and only Alfred can see and pull him back together....

I hope Nolan doesn't go down the same road that Tim Burton went for Batman Returns.

I doubt it will get an "R," Da Vinci Code (The most over-hyped yet under-rated) had some really gory scenes but still manage to pull in a PG-13.

Darker? wow. I can't wait for this, 2008 seems way too far away.

i've heard taht Batman knows ventriloquism. That'd be boss when he's fighting bad guys. You know they're trying to ifnd out where the voice is coming from. It sounds as if it's coming from every direction and he poiunces down and beats the **** out of them.
