That argument has been shot down multiple times in the Batsuit thread.
^ except the point to that aguement is that Batman needs to LOOK like he's wearing armour. explaining it away as "cloth based" and substituting obvious armour for something more visually pleasing isn't quite as good. even if it's real, it comes acrss as a little contrived, convenient, even "comic-booky". Visual language relies on signs that people are familair with and recognise in an everyday sense. Cloth based armour is still too far out of the range of experiance to be accepted as something that can actually work. Thick armour plating, well yeah we know *instintivly* that's going be of some use. I'm not saying i support either option cos really i'm flexible on both, just pointing out where I see that particualr argument laying.
