And the bar brawls that somehow turn into clouds.

Oh and since chamber brought up newspapers I thought I'd mention, The Sun is filth, The Mail seems to be run by the BNP (all wankers IMO) and The Guardians Pro-Tory agenda is so in your face it isolates anyone who wasn't born into wealth and power.
Yeah I don't like newspapers, the sad thing is that I just love Andy Capp.![]()
Good to know lex *laughs maniacly*
And yeah, I tend to say I'm English, I don't really like the word British, nothing against, Scotland/Ireland/Wales etc just the word British makes me think of the British National Party, which considering all the bigotry and intolerance involved with them, is something I don't really wanna associate with.
That being said There are only two kinds of people I can't stand. Those who are intolerant of other cultures, and the Dutch.
Austin Powers lol
The BNP seem to be out in force around the Berkshire area.....I understand their points of view but they come across so prejudice.
Glad you recognised the Goldmember ref, I didn't just wanna come off as some crazy Dutch hater (I mean how can you hate the Dutch they're the coolest clog wearing, Tulip growing, windmill loving hedonists on the planet) and I personally don't understand the BNP at all, to me everything they do and say comes across as racist, homophobic and just generally prejudiced against anyone who isn't straight, white British. And considering several factors about myself (not just the gay thing BTW) I just get the feeling that given the chance they'd put me in a gas chamber.
Indeed. I am not really sure what party I would prefer these days. I am a little put off any of Earths governments right now.
Brick Tamland: Excuse me, Veronica?
Veronica Corningstone: Yes? What is it, Brick?
Brick Tamland: I would like to extend to you an invitation to the pants party.
Veronica Corningstone: Excuse me?
Brick Tamland: The... party. With the... with the pants. Party with pants?
Veronica Corningstone: Brick, are you saying that there's a party in your pants and that I'm invited?
Brick Tamland: That's it.
Veronica Corningstone: Did Brian tell you to say this, Brick?
Brick Tamland: No. Yes. He did.
Veronica Corningstone: Okay. No. I don't want to go to a party in your pants.
Loyalist Northen Irish people are hardcore patriotic even more so than most people from the British main land which is why they say their british. That's funny. I know these two girls and one is English and one is Irish (you know the ones I'm talking about). The Irish girl will ALWAYS say that she is British, never Irish. But the English girl will always say she's English.
Does my Irish friend do that to seperate her self from the Free Irish People's Republic of Freedom or whatever they're calling it these days?

I heard someone say this the other day that people in britain have more of a tribe mentality which is why we identify ourself more with what town/city/region we come from more than we do a national sort of identity the way other countries do.
Thats why people are more proud to say they are a Yorkshire man/Londoner/Scouser/Geordie or Scotsman or Welshman over a Brit.
Plus saying your British immediately brings to mind to non-Brits all the stuff people from the country have done over the years (empire/northen ireland/israel ect) which even today regardless that few if any everyone alive in Britain had anything to do with or supported those actions still brings scorn.
Americans are really good at image project/self publicity/mythology making. I can't fault them their good at market themselves.
Most people think we all still talk like shakesphere, live in manor houses with butlers, drink tea all day, wear bowler hats and are cold and emotionless.
When really we talk like Ali G, live in 3 bed room houses, drink beer all day, wear trilbys/baseball caps and are hot headed and crybabies.

I found this helpful: http://listverse.com/2009/04/14/10-common-misconceptions-about-britain/
But I still think you drink tea all day.![]()
