I would not recommend that film at all lol, Beware the Batman version was great imo, different in terms of backstory but it was what I'd call a "Nolanized" take on Slade.

Exactly, which is my case for Mila Kunis to play Zatanna.

What's not to like about it?

It looks too much like Deathstroke.

For starters I don't like the shape and material of the mask. The shell/helmet look is very underwhelming. Second, the amount of orange on the mask and positioning gives it a weird shape rather than the classic half and half.

With the materials, patterns and overall brilliance of Batfleck's costume I guess I had higher expectations than some guy wearing hockey pads. It's nothing new, it almost looks like a good cosplay rather than, "Omg, that's Deathstroke! "

How about someone like Stephen Lang for Deathstroke?

He's 64. On the one hand, that means he might be to old for several films. On the other hand, Deathstroke's armor and mask mean that you'd almost never need to worry about hiding a stuntman. I think he could manage the role for a few films, provided they're all in the next decade and not beyond. He's about the only actor in the right age range with both the gravitas and shape to believably portray someone who could handle Batfleck while being far more than just muscle. My biggest issue is his height, but even that's easy to fake.

His suit and armor do look a little questionable, but that can quickly be forgiven if we find out his armor's superior to Batman's with him tanking gunshots and explosions. Plus, the more solid build is no doubt easier to animate with CGI.

And personally, I'd rather he not be tied to the LoA and the Al Ghuls; it failed utterly in the DC animated movies, and he's both too much of a freelancer to fit their fanatical template and yet also too sane to really be the self-motivated villain without some kind of extenuating circumstances. My personal hope is that he acts as a tie between both Nightwing (as an adversary who pursues him when he comes to Gotham) and maybe Jason Todd (possibly making Jason a trainee and apprentice, like Geoff Johns thought would work). Maybe he works for Intergang in the movie or is pursuing a bounty Lex posted on Batman's head, or maybe he's got a grudge with Batman fueled by Nightwing training his daughter Rose while turning her against him.

This is exactly why I STILL want Ron Perlman to actually play Slade Wilson in live action. His voice work in Teen Titans was bone-chilling.

I don't want him for live-action, as I do not think he is suitable due to his age. I hope they get him back for the animated movies though, especially Judas Contract. Sadly, we will probably be stuck with the crap voice actor from Son of Batman.

Yeah I agree. It would be nice if he appeared in a film. One of the more interesting things about him is that he hates Bruce Wayne more than Batman.

Usually whenever someone complains about the way he was treated in Arkham Origins, someone tries to defend it by saying he was never a credible threat to Batman. Well Origins Blackgate pretty much showed that he can be.
