Ben Affleck releases Deathstroke footage on Twitter

But realistically speaking, what are the odds we even get another Batman solo film?

Affleck's shooting Justice League right now. Then he's got The Batman, Witness to the Prosecution, and Justice League 2 after that (two of which he's directing).

Guy's got a lot on his place for the next three years, and by the time we get to 2019, he'll be nearing fifty.

BVS
Justice League 1 and 2
Batman solo movie

After that he's doesn't owe these people any more. He's given them everything.

Deathstroke will be in JL and the bat solo?? Oh hell to the yeah! I am still hoping for a raid style Arkham Asylum film but would be fine with a regular film with Deathstroke as a villian

:awesome:

Deathstroke is a weird choice. His personal ties are with the Titans and his own family; except as a physical and tactical challenge, he doesn't make for a strong one-on-one Batman villain.

Can't help but be a little excited by the action prospects, but yeah, weird choice.

Agreed I felt like it was a weird choice for a batman solo film. I rather they use Riddler or Black Mask.

Finally, been waiting to see Deathstroke on a movies budget. If he's involved in JL or the solo Batman movie I'm expecting some epic fight sequences.

Why are people acting like the Bat solo is confirmed to be a Raid style Arkham movie when in the same tweet he says "no" like 3 times

There's so much interesting things about this. Great opportunity for some great fight scenes. A villain that hasn't been in a major DC live action movie. A villain who's also such a good fighter and can go toe to toe with Batman that Batman can't go Batgod on him.

We just need Slade to make an appearance on Gotham now, as we all know that show is clearly the measuring stick of quality :o

God I loving this footage. I just recently watched BvS Ultimate Extended Cut and I must say there is still hope in DC Universe. Boy I liked it. Like it was day and night. I loved that movie.

And now this. The HYPE is back!!!

Nuff Said.

In a movie with Deathstroke, we'll possibly get moments like this as a potential Crux for the film:

Deathstroke not only throwing in Batman's face that he's willing to go where Batman won't but also that just like him his movements are calculated and he thinks two steps ahead.

The warehouse fight scene was pretty much the only thing out of BvS to be universally liked, and it was super cool. So let's use a villain that can take advantage of that and match Batman blow for blow.

Incidentally, Batman in this scene is Dick Grayson (which is why he has such personal enmity towards Slade).

True....Though I can imagine that for a Batman movie, they would give that dynamic to Bruce and Slade for the sake of the story.

I'm not fully convinced that he'll be the villain of a Batman solo but with that said I prefer this to the vastly overused UTRH and the lame Raid style Arkham plot. What made Morrisons Arkham story special was the psychological complexity, turning it in to an action fest would have been a crime against Batman imo and besides villains would have needlessly jobbed, the Arkham games have proven it but they were just games. I dont need to see villains pointlessly lined up to get beaten by a single punch,no thanks.

They'll have to come up with something, since there isn't an especially strong relationship between Bruce and Slade in the source material--but it'll never be quite like Dick and Slade. There's so much history there, much of it very personal.

I think Dick Grayson (and more broadly, Robin) is one of the great missed opportunities of of the DCEU. Robin would have provided such a fresh perspective on Batman (singlehandedly justifying the reboot), and Dick is, in many ways, a lynchpin of the DC Universe. He's one of the most human and instantly likable figures, a relatable gateway for the audience, but he's also tied intrinsically to so many heroes and villains by virtue of having been raised in that environment.

While Dick could appear in the DCEU, it'll only be at a point in his life where so many of those great storytelling opportunities have already been missed.

Personally, in a cinematic universe starting from scratch, I think Dick could have been the Tony Stark of the DCEU--a gateway to the rest of the universe. A Batman film in which Grayson is the main character, and we see his origin story through his own eyes with Batman as his mentor, I think really would have set the stage perfectly. Through Grayson you can be re-introduced to figures the audience has seen a million times, but from a completely new perspective.

It will never be, but I can dream. In the mean time I'll have to hope they introduce Tim Drake to help reel in the DCEU's dangerously unhinged Batman.

How so? Only 2 adaptions of that I can think of is the animated movie, and a version of that in AK.

I have a strong suspicion that Damian Wayne will be the Robin in future Batman movies. DC has been pushing Harley,Deathstroke and Damian for the last few years. Now two of them have already made it to the universe,Damian should be coming in a few years. I think Dick and Jason may also make it as Nightwing and Red Hood but Tim doesn't look like he'll be going anywhere significant.

yep. this.

but yeah, the fights are gonna be awesome.

Even twice is more than enough, especially in a span of just 5 years. Besides the Cap movies have utilized similar plot points and arguably so did Daredevil, all with in last 2 years. There are many stories and concepts that have not been utilized at all. I can see the appeal to general fans wholl walk in unawares but for us posters I honestly dont see whats so exciting.
