Ben Affleck To Direct & Star In 'Argo'

This looks really good. Also I laughed at the line " If I'm making a fake movie , it's gonna be a fake hit"

I liked the trailer and I'm always looking forward to an Affleck-directed movie. I do wish he would stop acting in them, though. He was the only one that prevented his own movie from reaching greatness, The Town, imo. I have to admit he looks better here, though.

This looks awesome, plus GOODMAN!

The Town did reach greatness, and a lot of that had to do with his performance. I don't care how much of a hard-on the Academy has for Jeremy Renner; if anyone deserved an Oscar nom for that film, it was Ben.

Agreed 100%...that he was really good in The Town

I thought Affleck was good (as was Postlewaithe and pretty much everyone else in the film), but Renner was marvelous and clearly had the best performance.

I just didn't care for his performance. He tried his besst, that was obvious, but just like in State of Play, he didn't do it for me.

This is getting spectacular reviews from its screening at the Telluride festival. Most are saying that is Affleck's best work to date. It looks like WB has its Best Picture horse.

I was just thinking that somebody should try to make the actual "Argo" movie, based on the fake scripts and production notes they had.

If this thing gets as much acclaim as assumed, WB may very well go back on bended knee to Affleck for Justice League even if he did turn it down.

I felt the same way. Renner got the majority of praise for good reason, imo.

Really really anticipating this film! It could be special.

Wow.

This film, is absolutely incredible! The third act... Is probably one of the best thirds act ever created, its intense, and is just wonderful.

Argo 10/10

Ben Affleck SHOULD get a nomination for "Best Director". Its THAT good.

With all the praise this film is receiving, I assume this is the project that finally welcomes Affleck's name [as a director] into the upper echelon of The Biz.

Good to see it getting good reviews. I'm very excited for it.

Affleck is three for three, man. I can see why WB was possibly running to his ass for Justice League.

Nice to hear it's another great film by Affleck, right now it's at 92% on RT with 66 fresh reviews. I may have to see this in theaters afterall.

We knew he could write( good will hunting) he picked up some skills watching directors as an actor.

One of the few people who can transition to director

I always liked Ben Affleck I think most people can not tell the difference between a actor being bad and him working with a bad script or a bad director

Nope he was bad at times. Regardless of director/movie he had some blame.

I've always like Ben Affleck as an actor and a person, due to the interviews I read of him where he is self-depreciating and would critique himself. He isn't as good an actor as his buddy Matt Damon, but he is also underrated (see his performances in movies like Chasing Amy, Changing Lane, and Hollywoodland). I'm now tempted to see this movie in theatre instead of waiting for the DVD, and I hope Argo will be the film that pushes him to the upper echelon of Hollywood directors.
