This is a continuation thread, the old thread is [split]523021[/split]
That'd be more promising, but how much baggage would Bruce Timm have on his shoulders due to The Killing Joke, I wonder.
It'd be nice if Geoff Johns came out and set the record straight a bit. We really haven't heard much from him and Berg since they were hired into their roles last May.

I'm down for a DCEU delay. Just slow down and get a Feige character in there that knows how to fix this.
Slow it down WB, you don't know what the hell you're doing! Take a step back and figure it out.
It's not necessarily answering every little rumor or negativity though. It's addressing a clear trend. They're losing directors, they keep adding new projects to their slate without a timetable in sight, they're pushing films back seemingly without consequence, they moved Justice League 2 to come out after a Batman movie that is up in the air at this point.Clay Enos said something interested about these types of people in these types of jobs. He said (paraphrasing) the people behind the scenes are working their tail's off, hears the fans screams loud and clear but aren't designed to answer to every little rumor or piece of negativity out there because that's not their focus.
It would be nice to hear something on the matter, though. There's way too much to reel in. The fanbase needs reassured on many things, but we'll take maybe one thing at this point to clear the air.

When you look at all of this as a collective, it reeks of a rudderless ship. And they're the producers overseeing it all. They don't have to shoot down every little thing, but offering some type of interaction with the fanbase would go a long way in changing that current narrative.

Well now that explains your posts about Batman from the last month. It's just so hard for me to care. I've never been invested in Batman no matter how many things I've seen with him in it. I started as a Superman fan first who loved Lois Lane and recently became invested in Wonder Woman. I care that the DCEU is okay and that fans of Batman are happy, but in terms of direct investment, I am just not in the same place as some.
So when I hear the news of some of the changes to Batman or other films, it makes me almost more relieved rather than less. It makes me think that whatever set up they had that brought them disappointments in BvS and SS, they aren't just going to keep going without trying new things. If that means slowing down or bringing in new people who have the skill and energy to do the job better, then that seems good to me.
I'm also comfortable to stay in a "wait and see" mode. The world is too full of daily real concerns, especially political, that living in the moment means those things take precedent. I also have more knowledge and control over things in real life, so I'm more comfortable just letting things go and letting things be when it comes to what might or might not happen with the DCEU. That isn't to say I judge anyone who does care more than that, because I certainly understand how entertainment can be an escape, and I respect the need and value of such an escape. I also respect how much these properties mean to people because of past attachments or the inspiration and joy they can provide. They also facilitate community, like this place, and community, conversation, and even friends are important.
I just realized with this Affleck announcement how little I care about Batman. I want things to work out, though, for those that do, and I want the DCEU to be in good shape. So hopefully things will turn out okay.
Like, none.
No it would not. Only way to fix that is to have a movie that critics don't rip apart.
I really don't see why we're owed any explanation. Films get delayed, lose directors, get announced, get cancelled, etc. This isn't new.
Iron Man franchise lost Terrence Howard, Favreau stepped down as director, Blunt backed out of Black Widow. Marvel dumped Ed Norton and nearly lost Rourke and Sam Jackson due to low-balling. Edgar Wright backed outta Ant-Man and took a few cast members with him. Then they lost Patty Jenkins and had Portman talking trash about the whole thing. Ava DuVernay publicly turning down BP. Pushing BP back for yet ANOTHER Spider-Man film. Dumping Inhuman from the MCU schedule.
Ultimately, who cares? We got some good and bad movies out of it all and the world kept on spinning. I truly don't care about what happens behind the scenes. We'll get the movies when we get them.
Then you have stuff coming out like the Rock posing in front of DC headquarters and having meetings with high execs to go over the plan of the DCEU and what is to come. It fired him up to be apart of it so where does all of that stand?

I think the problem is the slate. We have absolutely no idea what anything is anymore. That's all that needs to be done if things are in fact, in order. All of behind the stuff happens so I'm not surprised, we just need SOME sort of direction, that's all.
I'm of the mind that maybe, just maybe, WB/Johns/Berg sees MCU getting a pass on all the same production troubles they got, but DCEU is getting all types of **** for it, that they pretty much said eff it, we're not going to address anything because it'll just lead to more talk that we're doing dmg control or clickbait articles, etc, etc. We'll just show you whats up with the actual films.
