He is underused in some media, though. I don't think he ever appeared in animated movie, while Dick, Jason and Damian did.

He was in Mystery of the Batwoman and Return of the Joker, if you count that.

If they are using Robins, I wouldn't be surprised if they skipped Tim and went with Damian.

Oh, yeah... forgot about the former. I think we all know that famous scene from the latter, though I don't think I've seen the movie in its entirety. Not a big fan of "Batman Beyond".

Gasp! You don't like Batman Beyond? It's a really good show. And Return of the Joker is one of the best things to come out of the DCAU.

Return of The Joker is pretty great.
Also, the flashback showing what happened to Tim Drake in Return of the Joker is darker than anything in BvS. It's funny how the DCAU is better than the DC movies (past and present) in every way.

I know it is, it's just that this whole futuristic setting and Batman not being Bruce Wayne isn't really my cup of tea. I guess it insults the Batman purist in me. :hehe:

And I honestly can't tell if I ever watched "Return of the Joker" in its entirety. I might have, but too much time (and too much booze) has passed since to claim anything for sure.

Anyway DCAU really killed it before New 52... they barely had any bad movies. Nowadays they're pretty much all bad.

Yeah and when they tried to do a classic like tkj the dropped the ball big time.

Uuuugh, why did TKJ have to be such a letdown....

It just felt like such a soulless project. Like everyone was just going through the motions.

I was under the impression that we would be getting The Batman in the summer of 2018. Hmm.

I can wait an extra year if Ben thinks it will benefit the movie. Totally feels like WB is worried about the universe due to the reception of the last few films and are trying like hell to rush him into production

Hopefully he isn't having any of that

I can definitely agree there. I'd always rather wait some extra time to get an amazing project than for them to continue rushing and putting out mediocre material.

The fact that Suicide Squad hasn't had a sequel greenlit despite making $745 million shows they are more than a little worried about moving forward.

They dropped the ball big time. The Batman 66 animated movie is much, much better.

Yeah well remember when BvS was pushed back like a year and half to give the filmmakers time to "fully realize" their vision?

I thought about that before making that post, but the difference between BvS and this is that Ben Affleck is writing and directing, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt over Zack Snyder any day of the week

So I guess you were no fan of Nightwing as Batman.
Did you know that happened twice?

I hate anytime bruce isn't batman, except batman beyond. Because Bruce realized he couldn't be batman any more due to the limits of his body, so he's forced to pass the mantle down to terry and live through him by backseat driving. Its an interesting dynamic. Because even in the future, gotham needs a batman.

Summer 2019 is way too far away for a Batman solo movie. They need it in 2018 to build some confidence back in the DCeU. I'm hoping Justice League does that on its own, but Snyder doesn't inspire any sort of confidence in my books.

Big mistake if they pass up on 2018 IMO.

Yeah, after Azrael gave up the cowl and when Bruce was thought dead as the aftermath of "Batman RIP", if I recall correctly.

And no, I'm not much of a fan of anyone but Bruce being Batman, though I liked the fact that Dick was seen as deserving of the cowl and one to step into Bruce's shoes in his absence. It was natural progression of his character arc. Can't say I cared for him as Batman, though.

I heard good things about BB as a legacy story, I also watched first few episodes, it was handled well. ”Problem" I have with it though, is that not only character of Batman is different, but Gotham is not the one I enjoy seeing in comics/animated films, etc. Its whole futuristic vibe made me feel detached from it all.

Simply the show lacked main two elements that brought me to like Batman in the first place - haunted, tragic character of Bruce Wayne and Gotham City's noirish, gothic setting.

If I felt the need to watch a story about vigilante that is set in BB's surroundings, I'd find some steam-punk or sci-fi of that sort, but it wouldn't be Batman. Get what I mean?

Not to mention that even more so than with Dick, Barbara and Tim it put Bruce in a very fatherly position. And not just because Terry is literally biologically his. :oldrazz:

But down the line, I'd very much love a BB live action movie. Like GG said, there's such an interesting dynamic with the whole set up that it's really intriguing, given there's this all new world and everything's changed while still being exactly the same.

Though, being somewhat of a Batman purist myself, I get why KillerWolf doesn't care for others being under the cowl. Aside from BB/Terry, I don't really care to see anyone but Bruce as Batman either.
