The Amazing Spider-Man Bendis Breaks His Silence On The Spider-Man Reboot!

I have ever issue of Amazing (until the BND crap), every issue of Ultimate Spider-Man, almost every issue of Peter Parker Spider-Man vol 1, and a good chunk of some of the other titles. I think I know the villains. Kraven in the Ultimate universe wasn't so much worried about ratings as he was finding and defeating Spider-Man. His agent was the one worried about the ratings. Read it again, you'll see. Kraven on a reality show isn't far from the character as it has been updated. The 616 version only talked about how people all over the world knew about him and the hunt. How do you think people knew about him and the hunt? Bendis only fleshed out what was there behind the scenes. I don't think Stan Lee was implying he had a reality show as much as him just being on tv and on news reels and such.

And watch your tone, no one here is picking a fight. But you're getting really close. We can talk about this without acting like we're married to these characters.

And IMO SSM has the worst interpretation ever. LionKing-Kraven was terrible. He was actually pretty good until they turned him into a Disney character. At least werewolf-Kraven look kind of menacing.

Ultimate Kraven got knocked out by Spider-Man with one punch and then said "Kraven schleepy."

He was a joke. Bendis didn't respect the character at all. He didn't even Kraven that big a role. I think Bendis just didn't like the character and made him into a loser because nothing in 616 indicated Kraven was a pushover in a fight.

Have you read Ultimate Six? He had a bigger role in that story arc. Plus, I think what Bendis was doing was showing that, when looked at honestly, Peter has some real power. He can jump 50 feet high and punch through brick walls. If he really existed, he really would be a walking power house of strength and speed. Kraven, as he was written by Stan Lee wouldn't stand a chance against him. Bendis set out to give Ultimate Spider-Man not only an updated feel, but to make it feel more real world like. And he did just that.

And you have to admit, Kraven from TSSM looks just like Scar from Lion King.

He got knocked out by one of Electro's stray lightning bolts. He was just as pathetic in Ultimate Six.

I don't think it did Kraven any big favors though. That would be like having Bullseye get shot in the head in his first appearance and saying it's okay because in real life a dude with a target on his head would get shot right away in a gunfight. It might make sense, but the character was made into a joke in the process.

And the interest behind Kraven has always been his skill as a hunter. In 616 Spider-Man even when Kraven made one of Spider-Man's arms numb Spider-Man was able to fight him off with one arm. It was then when Kraven hit him with a drug that made his hands start twitching and that's what gave Kraven the advantage. And then when they fought later Kraven used jungle drums to disorient Spider-Man before throwing a net on him. Kraven never had the advantage in a physical brawl. He always used his brains, tools, and his skills. Ultimate Kraven didn't. It would be like if Ultimate Mysterio had just made some smoke appear and Spider-Man punched him in the face to knock him out. Accurate sure, but that isn't what made Mysterio an interesting villain.

No way.

....Scar looked way more bad ass.

[A] was kind enough to do the avatar though.
That's pretty good animation within that fews seconds, looks like Spidey actually has weight to him, nice.

BACK ON TOPIC....

Who thinks ultimate mysterio would work as the villain. now that bendis is involved.
Or maybe he is barely involved at all. Since he has nothing to really say.
