The Amazing Spider-Man RUMOR: Zac Efron as new Peter Parker/Spider-Man???

Well, you must see alot of older looking 12 year olds then.

We don't want to know what he sees in 12 year old boys.

Okay, so I started school this week and I am taking Intro to Film. My professor happens to be VERY well connected to Hollywood and has lots of good friends that work within it. According to her, one of her best friends was supposed to work on this reboot but was angry when they cut the budget down dramatically. He didn't want to risk making a disgrace of a movie so he got out...

The last thing he heard, though, was that Zac Efron was going to be cast as Peter Parker.

I am not saying that he is 100% in, but that's at least what she said.

And here comes the people who know others whom are connected to Hollywood. If you have no proof, just keep it to yourself. We're all hearing rumors of Efron, sickening rumors, but rumors none-the-less. Let's hope it isn't true.

I know an Illustrator who's worked on A LOT of Marvel movies, and has even painted a lot of the posters we've seen over the past decade. I'd assume since he's worked on all these movies he'd be in the know, but in all honesty he's pretty clueless. All the time he dishes to me with false information, and In my head I think "He really doesn't know anything".. I don't tell him that, of course, because he was an instructor of mine, lol.

But, my point is that a lot of people working pre-production and other various projects on a film don't know as much as one would think.

the reason I liked peter when I was reading him all those years ago was he was relateable, he was an every man, one of us I think the movie will lose that if peter ends up being a hottie. seriously what would be the big deal about peter (who would be a hottie) landing a future supermodel in MJ? you'd EXPECT a hottie to land someone like that.

this is a kick in the teeth for nerds and geeks

You've been reading or at least looking at a different Peter Parker than what I've been reading.

Peter has been described as the every man by many people but the reality is, he has never ever been, the every man. I don't know many avergae guys who has anywhere near his intellect or level of resourcefulness. When it comes to his looks, maybe Peter is the average joe. Peter has never been ugly not even when Ditko drew him but he wasn't exactly [insert hottest male icon you can think of] either. People need to realise that, Peter's "flaws" are mostly residual stereotypes that stem from those who knew him from his younger years or by readers who can't be bothered to really think about it and just go with what is essentially a rather half baked status quo.
Peter was a book worm, he's a product of an almost extinct era where it's uncool to be intelligent. He had no friends, no social life and was considered boring. Now, his appearance aside, it would be considered a mystery why many hot chicks have shown romantic interest in a person that has been regarded as boring.
The way some people talk, its as though they're looking for some of those guys you find on that horrendous beauty and the geek show.

I watched 17 Again for the first time Saturday. While I thought Efron was a decent actor, I just can't picture him as the next Spider-Man. Something just screams... that's a mistake.

If it is true, he's going to be making HUGE salary demands as the franchise goes on, even more than Tobey Maguire, because he actually has a freakin' large fanbase already in place. Actually, a fanbase that Marvel/Sony would love to capture: Girls/Female Tweens.

They'll be thinking about rebooting after the second film, when Efron's starts asking for 15-20M and backend deals with DVDs/Box Office. Zac Efron would be too expensive down the road. But is Sony willing to risk it to get a massive Teen Heart-Throb on board?

Oh, boy.

If High School Musical gets casted as Spidey, then I will want another reboot already.

Reboot the reboot.

And if anyone wants High School Musical to be Spidey. You need to be castrated.

If you want respect, be in an actual play before you're an actor. If you want to be in a wanna be musical...you are a joke. And who's girlfriend most likely posted pictures of herself nude to get publicity. Yah. x2 the joke.

I wasn't aware that Me and Orson Welles is going to be a musical...:whatever:
