The Amazing Spider-Man RUMOR: Zac Efron as new Peter Parker/Spider-Man???

I don't know what's so cofusing about the statement compared to your last one, unless you just don't know the reference. Playing a prototypical superhero these days doesn't exactly display a lot of range on the acting resume. Nor does playing a teenager with typical teen problems when you have basically been doing that all your career.

While I'd like to believe that's true, it's hard to take it seriously when they say Universal studios.

I don't mind Efron... For certain things that is. I know he's trying so hard to break into more serious acting roles. But to me, he's just too goofy. He looks goofy and his acting to date has been "mostly" goofy and over the top. I'm willing to give him a chance as a serious actor, but I wouldn't want to see him as Spider-Man. Nothing about him screams Spider-Man to me, or even Peter Parker for that matter. Casting him would most likely be a plea to the teenage girl audience to generate a larger audience. Let's face it, the fact that it's a Spider-Man movie will have most male movie-goers seeing it purely out of curiosity.

I don't see Webb casting Efron, unless forced to do so by the studio.

So effron is trying to shed his image as just a teen actor by playing a high school student?

I love when people don't read things.

Wow. Someone on the HYPE! actually making sense along with some good points. Don't worry. The trolls will be here soon enough to post something like

"ZAK EFR0N IS A DISNEY KID! HE SINGS WHICH IS STUP!D! DISNEY IS STUPID BECAUSE THEY HAVE MICKEY MOUSE!"

HAHA, I like how you now call other people trolls. The irony.

No one is denying Efron may very well be a solid respected actor down the line. But the facts are that Sony is going BACK to the teen heart throb days of PP, and Efron is clearly passing that stage.

The facts are NOTHING right now.
Efron has not even been confirmed as PP/SM.

And if he does get cast, it would not mean they would paint PP as a teen heart throb in SM2012. That's just your take on this because you are looking at it from an immature & one dimensional perspective.

If he got cast, a Superhero film is something totally different to anything he's done before, and SONY and Marvel understand Spider-Man is A LOT BIGGER than Efron, even if you don't. ;)

Thus it would be Zac Efron playing PP.
NOT, PP playing Zac Efron.

It's pretty remarkable how many people ignore the RUMOR part of the thread title.

Well it originally said official, so they may have yet to see the title change.(though they should notice easily)

This rumour was as inevitable as the Robert Pattison rumour.

Anyway, Effron isn't that bad an actor. I mean, judging his actual acting ability on the HSM films is like judging Bob De Niro's actual acting ability on Rocky and Bullwinkle or Meet the Parents. Translated; it makes about as much sense as me giving up drugs because they are against the law.

I don't think he's a bad actor...

It's just this hate that I have for him... I simply don't want him anywhere near the spidey-franchise.

I'd even pick Michael Cera over him...

Logan Lerman looks like a little child, I sure hope he don't get the part!

Sony and Webb have confirmed high school and are leaning toward unknowns by almost every report. Thing are subject to change but that's where we are. Efron can't play high school in 2011... more than one film for sure. And he's not an unknown. Now if they change it to college that's another story. No indications of any of that.

I knew it was B.S the minute I heard Zac Efron. I'm more suprised it was taken seriously . Ever one and the aunt has been rumored for this role from Taylor Lautner , to the guy from Across the Universe . These Brit tabloids pick anyone who's the flavor of the month and say their gonna be in the next Batman or Spiderman.

Remember ,Megan Fox as Catwoman? Robert Pattinson as Morbuis then as Peter Parker? Eddie Murphy and Johnny Depp are set to play the Riddler? They even said Sam Worthington was gonna replace Christan Bale as Batman.

Im starting to really like the idea of Efron as Peter....

I never watched a ZE film but from what I hear most people don't like him because of the roles he usually plays or just because he's such a teen boy craze. But the comparisons to Heath Ledger and DiCaprio ring true for me. Actors are never going to change our perception of them if we keep holding onto our preconceived notion of them. I still know people that associate DiCaprio only with his role in Titanic.

How does he look like a ''little child?"' Have you ever seen a little child before??

Lerman looks like a teenager, which he is.

That would be a fatal fail, bud. Especially if this movie's gonna be "gritty and serious".

And I love how you came in here to simply try and pick a fight without adding anything to the topic at all. Sounds like a troll to me.
