Benedict Cumberbatch is Doctor Strange

you must have very attractive Teletubbies in Ohio :wow:

Yeah, hard to keep something like that a secret. One of "The Heart Of It All"'s major tourist draws :yay:

Let's make hackneyed banal.

I can go with banal...

It's just an opinion, folks. Don't get your panties all in a wad. It's not the first casting error in the genre and it won't be the last.
Sounds like most of you need to get a room with Benedict. Got a .gif for that?

And cram the "hater" b.s.. It's hackneyed.

This would allow Benedict's acting skills to really come to the fore :woot:

Okay, I'm done. You all enjoy your Doctor Wh... I mean, "Dr. Strange". We all have our preferences. Makes the world go 'round.

don't worry, I'll enjoy both Doctor Who and Doctor Strange

You notice, Nemo7 how your opinion is the particular one?

Not saying that the majority is always right, but if the river sounds...

Yeah, everyone has the right to their own opinion and all, but calling Benedict Cumberbatch a miscast as Doctor Strange is pretty laughable. I mean, even amongst those who were AGAINST the casting, the vast majority of them had the argument that it was too much of an obvious, perfect casting choice and they wanted somebody more left-field.

I have been a Doctor Strange fan for decades, and I have been looking forward to this movie with great anticipation. More than anything, even appearance of the actor, I wanted him to be able to embody the intelligence and emotional depth I see within the character.

I think Benedict will do an awesome job, and it feels very meant to be, to me. I mean the guy has been to Tibet, hung out with monks and knows how to meditate. So not only can he bring the acting chops, he can bring a subtlety to the character by his understanding of things that are totally in Strange's wheelhouse.

This does not make me a cookie cutter, just someone's whose opinion just happens to agree with the people who hired the man.

For the record...you act uncivil because someone does not share your opinion...you get probation.

Not every day you wake up and find out Cumberbatch is getting married 30 mins down the road from where you live :)

You should crash his wedding. If the minister asks if there is anyone who has any objection, you should intervene wearing a Dr Strange outfit and say "I object by the hairy hosts of hoggoth!"

LOL!

Was thinking a Baron Mordo costume would've been more authentic :)

Imagine Benedict Cumberbatch has to battle someone dressed as Baron Mordo on his wedding day.

Or if someone shows up with a flaming head, and his bride to be asks who that is, he'll have no choice but to say "I think... it's Dormammu!" no matter how silly that sounds. :hehe:

If he saw you do that his reaction would be something like this:

Are Cumberbatch and Hiddleston friends in real life?

Yeah, really good mates.

Well then I hope Hiddleston showed up in costume with his helmet on. Anything else would've been unfitting for a wedding. I'm sure though he probably went for something more low key.

 And welcome to the Hype!

Uhm yeah... I heard Hoggoth has some reaaally hairy hosts.

I was lucky to get tickets for the live screening of Hamlet two days ago, bought them back in april. as far as I know, there should be another one, later this month so do yourselves a favour and watch his performance, he is outstanding in that role. and there's a great cast around him too.

Little bit of thread resurrection here, but I just watched The Imitation Game again. And I'm astounded by how good Benedict's acting is here. He's definitely no one trick pony and he played a character so different from his portrayal of Sherlock Holmes.

I just hope that the makes of Doctor Strange take the hint and don't give us Sherlock 2.0. I want Benedict's Stephen Strange to be a completely original character far removed from 221 Baker Street.
