I'm sure there's probably a thread like this somewhere here, but in case there isn't, what do you think are some of the best and worst deaths ever seen in horror films?

"CHOKE ON EM! CHOKE ON EM!!"

Day of the Dead

BEST:

Nightmare on Elm Street
- Tina's Death
- Glen's (Johnny Depp) death

Wes Craven's New Nightmare

There's too many good ones to pick from, but a bad one I can think of is Naveen Andrews' character from "Planet Terror" (the one whose head explodes). The special effects look good, but you can't tell how he died. It just looked like his head randomly exploded.

Has anyone ever seen Wrong Turn 2? I like that death in the beginning where the girl gets it right down the middle.

And the first death in Suspiria.

even though you knew they were charging into a gun fight, and you could clearly hear a gunshot when his head went ker-splat?

that was the best part of that movie... except for the ******ling brother on ******ling sister woodland sex.

(just kidding, that was weird and bad)

The Mist had some really good deaths but the best was when
Mrs Carmody was gunned down
. It's probably the happiest I have felt about a character dying in along time .

The worst was the ending . I didn't find it believable or necessary. It thought it was great up until the end .

I was really mad when Randy was killed in Scream 2...:csad:

But he was killed in a cool way, I guess? Haha

"You wanna be with the big boys huh? Manson?! Bundy?! *pulled into truck outta nowhere then stabbed repeatedly with kids blasting stereo nearby*

Randy!!! No!!

When you mean WORST death scenes are you talking about scenes that would make you cringe or worst in terms of bad make-up effects?

Worst as in the stupidest, more ridiculous death.

One of the best is a particular death in Friday the 13th Part III/3-D where Jason splits a guy walking on his hands in two.

Sleeping bag kill in Part 7 is another. :)

I dunno if this can be considered horror but Samuel Jackson's death in Deep Blue. I mean the man had given a chilling survival tale and how he was one of the few to make it out alive and while he's giving this inspirational speech, he's taken out by one of the sharks so viciously. His death just seemed soooo cheap. It was hilarious.

Hmm, I got a list to make, then I'll come back. :oldrazz:

Some of the best deaths I can think of off the top of my head are from Suspiria; Mainly the blind guy with the dog.

I've always enjoyed seeing Jason take someone in their sleeping bag, and smack them against a tree.

High Tension had some of the best deaths I've ever seen in a film, especially the last one with the chainsaw, which is by far the grossest chainsaw kill on film.

True that

I think all of the opening Final Destination massacres are pretty good especially in the second one.

also the engine to the head in FD3 was cool.

I also liked the Final Destination3 tanning bed death, mainly because I hated the two girls.

Damian Karras's death in the Exorcist was the best horror movie death in that it wasnt very gory, but it was powerful.

Another one of the best would undoubtedly have to be Janet Leigh in Psycho.

Oh and girl who gets attacked by Bruce in the opening of JAWS as well.

what about the killings and deaths in freddy vs jason?
