We all know that every now and then an actor will be replaced by another actor that played that particular role for one reason or another; some of the replacements were good and some weren't.

So, for the roles that had more than one person play them, who do you think was the best and the worst?

Best: Christian Bale as Batman

Worst: George Clooney as Batman

Best- Daniel Craig as 007

Worst-Timothy Dalton as 007

Honorable mention- Pierce Brosnan

Worst: that old lady who replaced the old lady as the old lady in Matrix Revolutions

THE VERY WORST (And YOU know it): George Clooney as Bruce Wayne/Batman

Absolutely. And the bad thing about it is that Clooney as Batman really doesnt sound like a terrible idea. It's just the fact that Batman & Robin was the worst f***ing movie ever.

Best replacement: (tie) Bale as Batman and Norton as Banner

Worst: Clooney as Batman

Perhaps we should move past Batman for now?

Having said that, I can't think of anyone else other than Bond or Batman characters.

Uhmmm....

Margot Kidder (who I disliked) to the new Lois Lane (who is a lot easier on the eye, but is evil IMO).

Best: Christian Bale as Batman/Bruce Wayne

Worst: Eric Christian Olsen as Lloyd Christmas

Best: Christian as Batman

Best- Brandon Lee as the Crow

Worst- Vincent Prez as the Crow( where did the hire that guy from)

and for the Trekies

Best- Kristie Alley as Lt. Saavik

Worst- Robyn Curtis as Lt. Saavik ( man that babe couldn't act)

Jack Ryan

Alec Baldwin to Harrison Ford

Harrison Ford to Ben Affleck :down

Best - Brandon Lee as The Crow
Worse - Vincent Perez, Eric Mabius and Eddie Furlong

best so far - Eddie Furlong as John Connor in T2
worse - Nick Stahl as John Connor in T3
hopeful - Christian Bale as John Connor in T4

Best - Tom Jane as the Punisher
Worse - Dolph Lundgren as the Punisher

Another worst replacing Michelle Pfeifer with Halle Berry as Catwoman, not sure if it really counts though.

Brandon Lee was the first actor to play the Crow, so he didn't replace anyone.

Worst of all time probably is:

Pamela Anderson from Humphrey Bogart in Barb Wire/Casablanca

Other notables:

Kevin Costner over Errol Flynn et al as Robin Hood
Chris O'Donnel over Michael York as d'Artagnan
Charlie Sheen over Richard Chamberlain as Aramis

I think we all know that, but the point of the thread that everyone but you seemed to grasp is to compare the original actor/actress to an actor/actress who replaced them in a sequel.

Dumbledore!

I realise Gambon brings a certain energy to the role that Harris clearly could never have done. But where's the heart of the character gone? :csad:

Wow, I was just about to mention Jack Ryan. Totally agree :cmad:

Also have to agree with Timothy Dalton as the worse Bond...

Replacing Bela Lugosi as Dracula:
John Carradine: Great
Lon Chaney Jr.: Not so much
