Seeing this lists makes me realise how much i missed this year. :csad:

DaCrowe that looks like your entire cinema going for the year. :D

Not quite and a few of those were rentals, actually. ;)

There is probably about a half dozen+ more I saw this year in between my "quality list" and my "crap list," which thankfully has been small this year. :D

I think you and VileOne will be the only ones that mention this. It was one of the best films of the year, yet, I don't think many here saw it.

I did, but it's my least favorite Pixar movie.

The Simpsons Movie
Knocked Up
Live Free or Die Hard

Runners-Up:
Spider-Man 3, Transformers

I still have to watch Juno, 3:10 to Yuma, Michael Clayton, Sweeney Todd, Charlie Wilson's War, There Will be Blood, Eastern Promises, Gone Baby Gone, Into the Wild, the Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, No Country for Old Men, The Darjeeling Limited, Rescue Dawn, Amazing Grace, the Lookout, Breach, the Host, and Before the Devil Knows You're Dead.

While my favorite was Spider-Man 3, I do not think it was the overall best (as it had some flaws). I think the overall 3 best are:

I don't think I have ever understood this statement

I generally see it as someone wanting to pass their opinion in movies off as credible when their favorite movie is one like a spider-man 3 that gets pretty lambasted at times (maybe over so).

Stand up for your opinion man POTC3 is probably in my top 15 somewhere and that gets as **** canned as SM3, but I'll still stand by it I thought it was better than all but about 12-15 flicks this year that I saw.

My favorite movies are the movies I think that are best, or they wouldn't be my favorites, so I guess you gotta find what works best for you, but that is the logic that makes the most sense to me

top 15 out of what I have seen (my sig says other wise I have been to lazy to change it, recent DVD viewings have altered my opinion a bit on different movies)

1. Gone, Baby, Gone
2. No Country
3. Hott Fuzz
4. Zodiac
5. Knocked Up
6. Superbad
7. Grindhouse
8. Die Hard
9. Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix
10. National Treasure 2
11. Halloween
12. Bourne Ultimatum
13. 3:10 to Yuma
14. Hairspray
15. Walk Hard/Blades of Glory/Oceans 13 (one of those good but not great comedies)

oh wow guess it didn't make the list wow, ether way..

great year for comedies though: Walk Hard, Oceans, Blades, Knocked Up, Superbad, Hott Fuzz, normally we get like two comedies of this caliber

worst movies of the year:
Ghost Rider, Hitman, Pathfinder, War

I think there is a difference between having fun with a movie that you know is flawed and enjoying a movie that you also know is brilliantly made. I.e I had a lot of fun with Transformers but i also thoroughly enjoyed Last king of Scotland, they aren't comparable in how and why i enjoyed them, but when asked which was the better film it's clearly The Last king of Scotland from a cinematic viewpoint, which is what the question of this thread is.

I nominate:

No Country For Old Men
Sweeney Todd
There Will Be Blood (early screening)
