I loved the gaudy red-white-and-blue that Captain America wore in Avengers. Even though the design differed slightly from the classic comic book version, I just like it when my superheroes dress up in bright, conspicuous spandex.

I like it better than the S.H.I.E.L.D. get-up he's using for the majority of Winter Soldier. I never cared for the visual he adopted under his 'The Captain' identity.

The X-Men movies get most of the costumes wrong, and I was only ever excited for any X-uniforms when First Class came out. Aside from the familiar blue and yellow theme, they also gave us Havok's concentric circles and Banshee's striped 'wings'.

I'm far from perfect, but even I would know that having a "best costume" poll with limited options is not the best idea for a "costume" thread. Especially with a chunk of those limited options coming from films we haven't even seen yet.

The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) - I loved the fresh take on the suit. The material used on it looked amazing in the night-time lighting of the film and it was cool to see a fresh take on the classic costume. I actually really liked sleek look of the leg stripes and sneakers, which I know a lot of people disliked. It just seemed like the classic suit... but different. Which I loved. That's not to say I didn't like the TASM2 suit too, that's probably my second favorite.

The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) - I loved the fresh take on the suit. I really liked how the webbing looked like indentions in his costume, that was a real nice touch that added extra texture to the suit. Other than that I thought it was alright, but definitely not my favorite rendition of the outfit.

This. Even the alternate version looks weak when comparing to the Iron Man 2 design. It just doesn't look heavy duty at all.

Agreed, and not just because I'm a total Iron Man fanboy. Functionally Iron Man is the most difficult superhero to do and come off as believable. He's had so many looks throughout the years, and pulling off both the Mark I escape armor and the main suit that became the stable for all the other revisions, they created something iconic.

It's funny that had Iron Man been made 10-15 years earlier (pre-X-Men, Spider-Man, Batman Begins), it probably would've been fairly low budget and the suit would probably look like a painted version of the Cybermen from Doctor Who.
