Yeah, they grew up...now. But think about the OT and how old kids that went crazy for it were back then... i would say a lot younger than 18 in most cases. Of course, the OT resonated with adults aswell (and that's part of why it got so big), but it was mainly for a younger generation.

Really, my dad stood in line for Episode 4 and told me it was mostly teenagers to 30 year olds in line. The action figures that came out after that Christmas is what brought kids to love it.

I grew up liking Star Wars for the action and special effects but eventually I realized there was more depth than blue and red swords. The reason the franchise carries on with you is because it has more meaning than its face value.

Well i guess that will depend on where u went to see it... my parents went to see ANH first to decide if they should take my older sisters (i was one, so i had to wait a bit :cwink:), and it was the reaction from the younger kids that prompted them to take my sisters to watch it :woot: ... of course, they also loved it, because there was more to it than just the effects. As u say, SW does go deeper than that, and this is something u realize with age for sure :yay:

Cool.

Another movie fight that rocks is in Gladiator where Maximus fights the guy with the golden mask and the two tigers that are chained to the ground.

This is the first time I ever said anything on the subject, ever. Look through my entire post history, chum. Not even a SINGLE post in any Star Wars thread either. It helps to know the person before making dumbass generalizations like that. :)

My God, it wasn't directed at you.

I voted Other. I still like Roddy Pipper and David Keith from 'They Live'. No cgi, no special effects...just two guys and a camera basicly fighting in real time. Sorry, but you can't top that.

Bit late, sorry:

Hector vs Achilles

Most of the Matrix Trilogy sequences.

Dumbledore vs Voldemort in the last Potter film.

Blade/Nightstalkers vs Drake and the vampires in Blade Trinity.

Opening nightclub sequence in Blade.

The Battle and the Barbarian Horde in Gladiator.

Ethan Hunt taking down Sean Ambrose's operation in final sequence of Mission Impossible 2.

The final battle in Starship Troopers.

Edmond Dantès vs Fernand Mondego in 2002 Count of Monte Cristo.

Several sequences from the two Charlies Angels films.

Final battle against aliens in Independence Day.

That's just off the top of my head!

Best Fight Scene Ever:

Second Place:

Ash vs. his hand in Evil Dead 2...:oldrazz: The hand pwns him pretty good.

Like that one but it's not serious.

Vader vs. Luke in Episode 5. More natural fight than the new trilogies is my winner.

There are so many it's hard to choose...

Mine would probably have to be the "Rocky vs. Dixon" fight at the end of 'Rocky Balboa'. This movie ranks as my second favourite 'Rocky' movie, but this fight is #1 on my list.
