Thaught i'd make a fun poll about movie fights. Do forgive me if i do not list all for there is only 25 i can post to choose from. If there is nota best movie fight listed in the poll you liked feel free to post your favorite movie fight.
Um it may take m a few moments to put the poll on so if anyone cheaks this and there is no poll. Trust me there will be one. I came up with this because of all the best and worst polls on the comic movie threads.

Code Name V V/S The Guards After Being Shot 100 Times. meh
King Kong V/S The 3 T-Rex's Ace
Captain Jack v/s Captain Barbossa. Meh

T-800 v/s Terminatrix. The Bath Room Fight. Ok
Werewolf Van Helsing v/s Dracula. Mmmmm CG
Neo V/S 100 Mr Smiths. Live action good, CG bad
Other.

I'm gonna vote for Achilles vs Hector, although Spidey/Ock comes close.

Thing vs. Dr. Doom
Batman vs. Ra's Al Ghul

These fights have no place on a "best movie fight" list. Thing & Doom's fight was bunk, and should've been so much more than "tackle, fall, fall some more, thrown car, knocked down, Sue interrupts."

And I want to know who the hell taught Christopher Nolan how to film a fight scene. How exactly did he think it'd be a good idea to film every fight with a shaking camera, while changing angles every second? Go ahead, watch your Batman Begins DVD. Go to the scene where Batman and Ra's fight on a train, and try to count the time between each camera cut. Hell, watch the training scene where Bruce and Ra's spar on ice. The movie has a great story, excellent acting, and good character work... but the fight scenes rank right down there with Elektra's.

What are some of these fights doing up there? Did you mean to put the word "worst" where you mistakingly put best?
Anyway I vote other. I don't know what my absolute favorite is, but a memorable one is when Jet li faught the twins in kiss of the dragon.

You left out a lot of the best ones:

Neo-Morpheus training session
Just about any Bruce Lee fight
Every fight in V for Vendetta
All the fights in Ong Bak
All the fights in both Drunken Master films
Final gun-kata showdown in Equilibrium

I don't know about the best, but some of my favs in no particular order:

1) James Bond (Sean Connery) vs. the Russian KGB agent during a train sequence
2) Original Rocky
3) Matrix Reloaded - fight with the Andersons
4) Darth Maul v/s Qui Gon Jinn and Obi Wan Saber Duel. [Darth Maul was the best thing about the prequels imo.]
5) Terminator II - original vs. updated version
6) Jet Li's office room fight scene in 'Kiss of the Dragon'
7) Some Chan sequences in the 1st 'Drunken Master'
8) Jet Li's 1st fight in 'Hero' (his opponent wielded the spear)
9) Jet Li versus the General in 'Fist of Legend'. (his nod to Fist of Fury)
10) Jet Li vs himself in 'The One'.
This isn't including Bruce Lee.

Tony Jaa is new, but a lot of his stuff is good also.

Now that I think about it, that's probably the hardest fight scene ever filmed; during that shoot, he'd go through the routine of the 1st character, and then stop shooting, come back and go through the routine of the next character. One of the AD's was flabbergasted at his ability to remember points of contact and the positionary movements of both characters.

Perhaps it's not the best fight, but it's probably the most difficult to achieve.

I can't think of any others right now. . .

but wtf? Van Helsing sucked.[period, everything about it]
A few others on here too. . . .

i'm not going to bring in any hong kong movie specialists into this, otherwise it would de-rail it...

from a western point of view in a western film performed by western actors, then definitely definitely definitely one of these two right here

in order

Johnny Cage vs Scorpion in Mortal Kombat
Hector vs Achilles.

the first one is probably the most balanced high octane fight. no one is winning for any considerable amount of time, the trading of blows is great, great atmosphere, fight scene, classic short lines, real brutally, gutsy well earned victory.

the second one is really all due to hector, a brother walking to his death that simply wouldn't give up against all odds, my heart truelly goes out to him, he was the real star in Troy in my eyes. A sacrifice in battle only an older brother could make and only an older brother can truelly understand the commitment and love for a sibling, in order to sacrifice his own family for him. that all comes out in bana's performance against an unstoppable force of nature. heart wrenching stuff.

i'll try and find both videos here for you to watch and examine yourselves

edit:

Here is the mortal kombat one, shrink screen for best viewing option

here is the troy fight

The best fight I've ever seen on film is Blade vs. Nomak in the climax scene of Blade 2. It had everything. It was brutal like a street fight but both actors were well trained in the martial arts so it was also a technically sound fight. Add Blade & Nomak's vampiric super abilities and you have got some of the most intense action ever put on film.

I voted for other:-

Rowdy Roddy Piper vs. Keith David in the alleyway (They Live). :D

Although these others werent bad:-

Arnie's T-800 vs. Robert Patrick's T-1000 in the iron smelting plant in ('T2').
Connery vs. Robert Shaw on the train (From Russia with Love).
Bruce Lee vs. Han (Enter the Dragon).
Bruce Lee vs. Chuck Norris (Way of the Dragon).
Jackie Chan vs. pretty much anyone ('Snake in Eagles Shadow', 'The Young Master', 'Drunken Master 1 & 2, 'Police Story').

To name but a few...........

I could disagree more, I though that fight sucked.

Minus points for referring to Ivan Drago as 'The Russian'.

Other: Mal vs. the Operative (ending), in Serenity.

i used to like blade nomak but i guess it comes down to the fact that fans had waited a whole two movies to see someone who could actually go up against blade and technically better him in a battle.

I watched it again yesterday and it wasn't as good as i can remember....

oh and peeps, most of these fights are on youtube so if you wish to have a proper analytical discussion about them, then it would be best to post up links as references as well since nostalgia and time do have their ways of playing tricks and making one think something is a lot better than it actually is.

Just watched it. Awesome, although its quite weak at the start IMO, they don't seem to be aiming for eachother that much, but it gets much better.

Cage needs to visit Ra's al Ghul: "Mind your surroundings!" He shoulda let go when he was flipping around and done an almighty elbow drop.

Also, the correct answer is clearly Martin Q. Blank Vs the hitman (Benny Urquidez's) in Grosse Pointe Blank.

well it is over 10 years old.

i just like the fact it isn't one sided, nor does it take a long time for a blow to be had. Both characters take some big licks while receiving some as well. What the video doesnt show is that it starts off in a nice forest scene as well which then utilises special moves from both johnny cage and also scorpion.

it's quite clear the formula in today's cinema is to have the hero losing till the end and then let the hero get a second wind and win (heck it even happened in this very film). I just find it refreshing that in a video game based film, there can be a fight scene were both characters come out with mutual respect from their fan base with a decent bout ending and lots of overall action and some nice tight spaced sparring and this all happens in the middle of a film, it's not like even the final fight.

I'm beginning to like you. I love your un-nostalgiafied suggestion.

Well I can't remember now any movie fight, which is worth to be called The Best Movie Fight, but there is my TOP3:

1. Spidey vs. Doc Ock (Spider-man 2) - yeah it was short, but there also was so much action and amazing footage!!!
2. King-Kong vs. T-Rex's (King-Kong) - I didn't like the beginning, but then it turned into one of the greatest fights between CGI characters.
3. Tyler vs. Storyteller (The Fight Club) - very quick and very savage fight between two characters, who are one man

well if it truelly is a good fight, then it can be directly compared to others and stand its ground.

it's also easy to put down bruce lee and not generally have anyone complain but really when you watch some of his fights, you realise that they are really quite crap to watch.

:o

yet nostalgia will make his name live on. Good for his time, but for all time? I don't think so.Nostalgia prevails in the hearts of many.

beatrix vs elle
also you should have put terri hatcher vs charlise theron 2 days in the valley

Captain Jack v/s Captain Barbossa - didn't see anything amazing, but still not bad.
Darth Maul v/s Qui Gon Jinn and Obi Wan Saber Duel - Episode I sucked, but this fight looked great
Wolverine v/s Lady DeathStrike - too short, but also very effective
Daredevil v/s Bullseye - was very disappointed
Gandalf v/s Saruman - could be better
The Thing v/s Dr Doom - one of the worst summer blockbuster fights
The Bride v/s Elle Driver Kill Bill - very bloody, usual Tarantino's style
Blade v/s Frost - not bad
Obi Wan v/s Anakin - CGI looked terrible and unrealistic
Captain Jack, Will Turner, Norrington the wheel duel - that was very funny and awesome fight
Hector v/s Achilles - while the movie was crap, that was the only scene, which looked excellent
Aragoron versus Uraki Lurtz - it looked enough cool
The Punisher v/s The Striped Russian - not bad
Batman v/s Raz-Al-Ghoul - too short, but it also looked very effective
Freddie v/ Jason - crappy and rediculous fight
T-800 v/s Terminatrix. The Bath Room Fight - it sucked
Werewolf Van Helsing v/s Dracula - disappointment
Neo V/S 100 Mr Smiths - very big disappointment
