Dean Cain for sure! George Reeves is too cheesy and old for me...don`t like those old TV shows that much..I grew up with Chris Reeve and Dean Caind, they are my Superman`s. Now Brandon will be too!

George was good too, but I really liked the modern Lois and Clark. It was a good show, and the pilot rocked.

Agreed (well liked the first two). He had good villians. You could tell in interviews before the first Superman movie he looked at the role as merely a stepping stone towards what he can act in next. That sickens me. He seemed to change his mind about that later on but it still bugs. Anyone who gets that role should kiss the ground and stop just short of legally changing their name to Superman.

Before Chris showed up, people were saying the same thing about George that alot of people are saying now about Chris: Greatest Superman ever. He was the Superman BEFORE Christopher Reeve was. That counts for something, and I'm honestly very shocked that Cain is even near Reeve on this poll. ****ing shocking.

I liked Lois & Clark too but I didn't like Dean Cain's Superman. I loved his Clark Kent though. I like the non-bumbling Clark Kent.

George Reeves made a great Clark/Superman. I wasn't alive when they originally aired but I have the DVD's and the episodes are great.

I didn't vote because even though he has never donned the tights and is not called Superman, Tom Welling is the best to me. Christopher Reeve passed the torch to this young man for a reason. People say an actor has to don the tights before he's considered Superman, but that's not true. People consider Tom Welling to be Clark Kent and not Superman (that's if they consider him at all...so much hate), but they somehow fail to realise that Clark Kent and Superman are the same damn person...duh. Tom Welling is Superman whether he's wearing the tights or not.

When I was small, I thought no one could rival george reeves.

Then I saw chris and he really embodied everything I liked about Superman.

When I saw Dean, he was really good and reminded me so much of George's version of Clark kent. Competent and likeable.

I never could abide Kirk Allyn..he always looked so short to me and ran like a sissy.

So its really a tie between Dean and George. I dont like Welling or the show--too many far fetched plots and tampering with everything in the superman myth I am used to. Like movie star parents. Ma and Pa Kent were middle aged and farm folk and much as I like Annette Otoole, she isnt Ma kent..

This is the way i rank the Superman

1. Chris Reeve (IS Superman in my opinion, No one has yet to out do him.)
2. George Reeves (He had charm & charisma, is way in someways i think hes just as good as Chris in many ways and in someways better)
3. Dean Cain (While hes a weak Superman and his Clark Kent was good. I just wasnt impressed enough my Routh to even put him above Cain)
3. Tim Daly (Did great job doing the voice of Superman in the Animated Series. I probably sould put him above Cain)
4. Brandon Routh ( I would call him the Mime of all Supermen, I mean how many pages dialog did he have. Like what, 2 pages. Overall just didnt think he was that good. Sure he looks like Reeve and Talks like Reeve. But hes Just dosnt have anything that made Reeve so Great.)
5. Kirk Alyn (I dont know he was o.k. But i just didnt think he made a great Superman. Even he was the first to play the part. I really think of Reeves as the first Real Superman on screen.)
