World Who was the worst Superman?

Dean Cain was one of the best Supermans in my opinion. At least he is the one i grew up with. But maybe the worst in my opinion is Tom Welling cause i can`t call Smallville a show about Superman.

Routh is by far the worst superman yet. Even Dean Cain was better than him and Dean Cain was crap at being superman.

Routh can't even be counted........we haven't seen him as Superman yet. That's almost like asking, "Who's the worst FLASH?: Ryan Reynolds, John Wesley Shipp, or Michael Rosenbaum".......because there's no new movie out YET.

With that said......Dean Cain.

MR is in the running for a Flash movie?

Personally, I thought Dean Cain did a great job. He took the Superman/Clark of old and brought him into the present day. As for the worst job, I would have to say George Reeves. He was a bit too cheesy for me.

this dude takes the prize.

It's debateable if you can consider his life at his job "regular". And I figured it was common knowledge that this "idiot" behavior (i.e. bumbling) was part of his disguise: "even though Clark looks a little like Superman, how can that clumsy fool be Earth's mightiest and greatest hero?" It was an interesting character trait, and without it, Dean Cain's Clark Kent was just another boring character in a drama.
I felt that Dean cain as clark was good. but a superman he sucked. coz as clark he was just just a normal person, stelaing to do his superthings. But as superman, he was just doing "daily sorting" of disorder and mayhem--the barest minimum expected of superman. It looks to me that in lois and clark, clark was the hero and superman was merely an afterthought--juust becaue that's who clark is supposed to be. I hated the wave of the cape to signify flight, and the mid-air flight looking like he's proning on a piece of glass. but the flight in the intro as clark kent was good, superspeed effects were good, heat vision was solid, superhearing was good too--except that he didnt have to get obviously distracted when he was hearing things, then give an excuse that has NO relation whatsoever to being distracted in that way. He kept loking like he heard something--to the general public!

Great title - 'who was the worst' - Routh's Superman hasnt even been seen yet and already he's a has-been. What a joke.

"Say your prayers, drink your Milk and eat your vitamins, kids. O I'll turn up at your school, looking like this and make a show of you."

Oh yeah - worst Superman? Dean (I just slick my hair back and cross my arms and I, like, literally become Superman!) Cain.

The old Batman tv show?...C'mon there's no way it was THAT campy...that's a tad harsh....

Remember the Wedding Destroyer, The Jefersons, Bronson Pinchot, and fighting Shelly Long.

Not even counting the Clone who ate Frogs.

The show was very campy.

Tom Welling is the worst Clark Kent/Superman/Anything Ever. A can of lead paint has more acting talent.

Dean Cain, but to be fair,I dont think the special effects helped him out much.

haha, I remember this episode. Superman had to stay with Clark, and when he came out as Superman when Lois was there, all he did was put his hands in water and slick his hair back.

I can go along with most of that. It still doesn't compare to the Batman series though...what with the labeled poles, silly villians, and Bat - _____ (you fill in the blank...they had "Bat" everything.)

Although I have to disagree on Bronson Pinchot. He played the Prankster, an already silly character to begin with...but he did it with a much slimier/twisted tone...with some dark humor added to it. I thought he played the role pretty well.

The Superman and Clark in L&C were based on the Byrne version.

Does that necessarily mean it's good? Just because an interpretation is based off of a superior or definitive work (and I don't even like Byrne's version, to be honest) doesn't mean that the interpretation will be good. I, Robot, for example, was based off of Asimov's classic work, and that movie turned out to be utter garbage. Associating the work with another one doesn't cover up its faults.

Clark was always supposed to be inconspicuous, a socially invisible kinda guy so that no one would be able to put two and two together and figure out that he's Superman. The L&C Clark was too slick and smarmy, and came off more as a second-rate Bruce Wayne.

That being said, I won't say Cain was the worst Superman, because the fault lies more in bad writing than bad acting. The worst has to be Tom Welling, who delivers with all the conviction of a high schooler reading a book report.

Dean Cain is actually my all-time favorite for bringing so much humanity to the Clark Kent role.

Cain was always my favorite too, I think Reeve was the best but Cain was always my favorite.

I barely remember the television version of "It's a Bird, It's a ..." but, from what I do remember, Wilson was awful.

The script was terrible, too. I believe it was Ken Mars who played the villain in that show. What a terrible play. I've given a lot of thought to getting my hands on the rights and re-writing the thing.

Wilson... my choice for the worst Superman...

BTW, the most interesting interpretation of the character for me would have to be Ron Ely in his cameo on the Superboy TV series.

"It's a satisfying feeling when you hang up your cape,
to know that you've averted murder, larceny and rape... " :O

Heeeeeee. HEE!

Now that I think about it, since when does Superman bust up attempted rapes? I don't think we've ever seen him slamming the boot down on such a dark side to Metropolis.
