Which movies ending left you confused, shocked or just deeply saddened?

If you're going to go in to specifics about the ending, please use spoiler tags.

Let me start off with a few that come to mind.

Usual Suspects (I've watched a 100 times and its still good)
Saw (I seriously had a hard time sleeping after watching this. Never saw it coming)
Saw 2 (i suspected it but it was still a good twist)
Identity (O.. M..G)
Arlington Road (Very good movie, what an ending)
Skeleton Key (not typical hollywood ending)
Sixth Sense
Psycho
Thelma & Louise (its the only way it could have ended yet it was still a shock)
Primal Fear (This was -hard to believe- Ed Norton's first film and whát a debut)

War of the Worlds

Wasn't expecing that kind of ending from Spielberg.

Usual Suspects
6th Sense
Donnia Darko
American Beauty

They were ALWAYS in Austria.
So how can they go there when they were already there?

That was a serious mind job.

For me, it's Superman. Supes takes Lex to prison! Of all places....!

In Nightmare on Elm Street 2?, it's like, they killed Freddy and everything's back to normal. So they're going to school on the bus, laughing and stuff and you're really relieved, but then Freddy reaches through this girl's chest and it's like, everything isn't really back to normal, the gay kid who showers for his S+M Gym coach and who can't be bothered to get it on with the hot redhead is still in a dream.

That ending has never made sense to me either. Especially since it's not even acknowledged or explained in 'Nightmare 3' which in a way picks up where the first one ended.

What does make sense though is the exploding parrot. Pristine, crystaline, divine sense.
And Clu Gulager thinks the gay kid fed it a "God-Damned Cherry Bomb!:cmad:"

Titanic, man that was crazy!

Nightmare on Elm Street 2 is just one of those odd sequels that doesn't reall fit with the rest of the films, in retrospect. The other films at least tried to bridge each other through the characters. The second film just seems like a bonus story.

And it's funny, because I think conceptually, it was pretty good, epsecially looking at how campy the subsequent sequels became. Here, Freddy was still a very creepy, shadowy boogeyman character that was genuinely scary. And the idea of him manipulating Jesse, the main character, was an interesting approach.

Ya know, in retrospect, the movie WAS oddly homo-erotic.

The first time I saw any of these I was totally shocked in a great way

Usual Suspects
Psycho
Empire Strikes Back
Night of the Living Dead
Sleepaway Camp (I did a Homer scream at that one!)

I have to agree with you man!

lol, honeslt yboth Saws and yes the Skeleton Key was deffinetly suprising, I didnt really care for it though.

Don't forget Memento. Whether or not you want to believe Teddy, it's still a great twist ending.

Even though i knew from the books that Boramir was to die. The ending in Fellowship Of The Ring was a great powerful ending. Sean Bean and Viggo Mortenson really gave a great performance which made it a great ending.

Saw 1 and 2
The Usual Suspects
Se7en
The Shining
Primal Fear
The Empire Strikes Back
Sixth Sense
Jacob's Ladder

For those who didn't understand The Shinings ending. Basically Jack's spirit stayed there waiting for the next one to arrive as the caretaker and drive him/her to insanity.

Or it could be that maybe Jack had a brother as well who ended up going crazy. I think the whole thing was to make viewers think about it.

i think arlington road takes the cake...i mean seriously how often
does the bad guy win?
