Best Twist Ending

Yup, also he wanted to be his villian. I know its not that drastic, but I don't like drastic ones.

i liked the twist in Basic but the very best twist endind ever has to be hands down The Usual Suspects period it dont get much better i also liked the twist at the end of Identity

Stay Alive...

You know, the part where the audience realizes they wasted 2 hours of their life, 7.75, and didn't even get to see Malcom in the Middle die for all their trouble.

I almost always hate twist endings, but I liked Unbreakable's.

Hmm. Interesting.
In my view, the ending of "Unbreakable" is shock for shock's sake. It's like MNS felt compelled to have a "twist" ending after the success of "Sixth Sense" and grasped for anything that would serve that purpose.
And I certainly didn't like the fact that the only hardcore comics enthusiast portrayed in movies (outside of a Kevin Smith movie) turns out to be a psychotic mass murderer.
So I had a curse put on MNS's work, and every movie since "Unbreakable" has been progressively worse than the last.
Heh. Just kidding. He made 'em suck all on his own.

Oh, and my vote for Twist Ending goes to "Fight Club."
I would say "Being There" (by a mile) but I doubt very many here have even seen Peter Sellers' last great film.

Caretaker dying the newest Longest yard (i didnt see the first one)

I have never seen Saw 1, 2, or 3......so.....

But you can't deny,...it'd be pretty impossible to act like you were breathlessly dead for that long.

But, eff it, if you liked The Wicker Man, you're all right in my book.

Just so you know, in Saw 3 it's explained how Jigsaw managed to lay still and not breath at all, in fact they show how he did it. :cwink: It's one of the best scenes of the trilogy in my opinion. :woot:

I never saw the remake of the Wicker Man. I thought it was pointless to remake a great film like that. The original ending in the original is just creepy. It's not the best twist in the world but it's great with the creepy factor.

What a way to die too. :(

That wasn't the ending, and it certainly wasn't the best twist ever. Wasn't even really shocking if you've seen the original.

The Usual Suspects
The Prestige
The Sixth Sense
Unbreakable

I actually believe the oppisate--I can't see this film working without that twist ending with Mr. Glass. The way Glass explains his motivation and how it related to the comic book world just made SENSE. It really showed the inherient tragedy with Glass' role (and I just love how it's Samuel L. Jackson, the guy who's known to play the badass motherf**ker role, shows so much vulnerability here).

It's because of that is why I consider Unbreakable absolutely the best of M. Night's work.

completely agree JRK and i also forgot to mention Fight Club also American History X didnt really have a twist but it did have a very shocking ending

saw is a good twist
fight club and prestige are good too.
sixth sence of course
saw 2 maybe

Word. Sophia Bush didn't even look that good in it either. :csad: And even though I knew it was crap and I didnt pay a dime to see it..... I was still pissed.

I dont remember any twist in matchstick men.

The twist in Matchstick men was
the girl that Cage though was his daughter wasn't and was working with the other guy, setting Cage up all along

Oh yeah, that was great. Even after we find out the real plot it, the end [BLACKOUT]where the little kid was the real killer in the guy's head[/BLACKOUT] was just f**ked up. :woot:

Saw
Saw II (The twist about his son, not the girl)
The 6th Sense
The Others
Fight Club
Seven
Primal Fear (Quite possibly Edward Norton's best performence, not to mention his very first movie!)

Thought of some more...
Identity
Just Cause

I think it has been mentioned. I remember turning to my friend 10 minutes into the movie and saying how I thought it would end...and bingo, that was exactly what happened......I know, I probably should have kept that to myself.
