Who was the best villain of the Spider-man 3? Your criteria can be what ever you choose. Most interesting, most deadly, most complex, most villainous, most sympathetic, best portrayed..just plain coolest? However you see it, who was the best?

I would say Venom, Grace did a great job playing Brock/Venom. I think he had the best lines in the movie.

Goodness, I really liked all of them...I suppose it would be Harry, just because of the friendship dynamic he shared with Peter. I'd prefer an "All Three" option, though.

I guess I will give my opinion, but I think Harry was certainly the best, most solid villain. I think Topher was on the right track with Venom, but he didn't get enough screen time to shine like he could have.

sandman sandman sandman
thomas haden church gave an amazing performance, he was my favorite part of the movie

Venom. He was the only villain in the movie who you couldn't feel sorry for, which in my opinion makes him the best villain.

Grace was miscast as Venom/Brock, he lacked the intensity and menace of a true villain, and using his real voice instead of dubbing it over with a more artificial and "alien" sounding one made him seem wimpy during the final action sequence. Thomas Haden Church looked like he could have easily kicked Grace's ass.

I'm very biased since I always loved the Sandman but god damn why did they *****fy him? If he is a hardcore criminal keep as one. What is this **** about his daughter being sick and all. Always marketing **** to f'n kids. Ruins it for the rest of us.

Harry's Goblin.

The only villain in this movie who wasn't under developed and had some really decent fight scenes with Peter.

Sandman was the best as in the less bad.

At least Church's acting was good for the material he has to work with.

Venom. He was the best acted, I felt. Harry is second best, but both of them are favs of mine.

YOu know what? This question opens up a whole new can of worms because there are no good villains in spidey 3.

Before you start, consider this....

HARRY- Harry had two whol prep time attempts to take parker down and failed miserably both times.

The first time he got his ass royally kicked by someone who didn't even want to hurt him, or wasn't even dressed for the occasion. That's just terrible.

The second time was even better prepared and instead he got his ass not only kicked but he went back for more and ended up getting a bomb exploded in his ****ing face, hahahahahaha. Now that's just rookie

then after two royal ass kickings he then swallows his pride to help a friend and gets killed in the process, WTF?

One could easily loose all respect for this character once you see the way he potentially DEALT with octavius in order to get a SUPERPOWERED VILLAIN to run his errands and deliver spiderman to him.

SANDMAN-

This dude isn't even really a villain. It's beyond funny. He's the only percent that has an accident in the spidey films and doesn't have any sort of moment to himself to realise wtf has happened to him. His motivations don't even make sense. How much money does he really need in order to save his daughter and how has his wife managed to pay the expenses all this time. in the real world it doesn't even make sense.

So apart from this and he doesn't even want to hurt spidey apparently and still manages to kick his ass, pretty much twice WHICH makes harry's attempts look even worse.

But when you are as powerful as sandman and you dont want spidey in your way, it's quite clear one could take him out if they wanted to, so why desire a team up of any shape or form, a teamup that would eventually not bring his desired result.

And he's allowed to stay on the run and keep running and stealing. Nah, sandman is weak.

VENOM-

Ha, what kinda idiot gets the power of the symbiote and then walks out of a church when a naked spiderman is right above him and he can go up there, kick his ass and end the film 20 minutes earlier. If you wish to delay the joy of taking out parker, it should be done with stalking and intimidation tatics, not to join some dude for no reason. And then you use the most cliche method of drawing spidey out, you grab his girl, wow, how original.

Venom actually probably killed or injured far less people than any of the other spidey villains, definitely less than ock, osbourne and potentially a draw with marko with harry not even being able to wound someone let alone kill them (whoos).

Without any symbiote sentient insight coming across on screen, the character's overall motivations were pretty empty, he only lost his job and got ridiculed a lil, there was so much more that could have been done, The symbiote's love/hate relationship with parker as well as extra hatred from being rejected from parker.

ultimately a feeble attempt of taking out parker where he asked for help from another villain. weak.

oh venom's voice was pretty bad, they should have enhanced it like in the cartoon, it was far too flat.

the funnything is that all three of them together don't amount up to ock or norman.

overall a pretty weak bunch :down

Venom... has always been my favorite villain and so in this one!
Church did fantastic as Sandman though... the scene in the end where he does his confession speech was the most moving scene in the whole trilogy

I thought it was ok.. but it took too long.. I found it boring after a while. I like Doc Ock's speech.. "Brilliant.. but lazy"

Harry. He played interesting mindgames wit hPeter and cut him deep personally. Deeper than even Norman did in the first movie. He also had the best fight scenes with Peter and best character arc.

Sandman was the best performed of the three but was too sympathetic to be the best. And while Venom was the "ultimate" villain of the movie and arguably the trilogy (though Doc Ock and Green Goblin were obviously better) he just lacked the personal threat that Harry had. And he was so nasty, his death was like "yeah, bastard had it coming."

BTW I'd just like to point out those complaining Venom didn't have enough motivation, he had ****ing more than he did in the comics. In the comics there is no Gwen Stacy that Parker is stealing from him. He just loses his job and career (like in the movie) and that's enough.

What movie are you talking about? Harry kicked Peter's ass in the first fight. He lost that fight at the end because of overconfidence, and lack of experience. Just before the second fight, you can CLEARLY SEE Peter looking at his box with the black suit. Peter KNEW that WITHOUT IT, Harry could win the fight. He put it on and when to fight Harry and even though Peter has the uper hand Harry held his own for most of the fight.

I went with Sanman. I enjoyed GG2 aswell. Those were really the only enjoyable parts of the movie to me. After all of the Sandman scenes the movie went way down hill.

Harry was the villian with the best story, Venom was the most bad@ss villian, and Sandman....well, Sandman just sucked. He was supposed to be the headline villian of Spidey 3, but he basically was just there to hold us over until Venom.

Venom. He was the only villain in the movie who you couldn't feel sorry for, which in my opinion makes him the best villain.
I hate to disagree with you there Drizzle, but I must. Brock/Venom brought it upon himself. Brock deliberately submitted false information as fact, framing Spider-Man for a crime he didn't commit just so he could get ahead at the Bugle and be JJ's #1 boot-licker, the consequences be damned. As was the case with Stephen Glass, it was only a matter of time before someone caught on to Brock's scheme and exposed him as a fraud. For the sake of dramatic conflict, Brock refuses to recognize that it was his own fault and fixates on the one who exposed him: Peter Parker, AKA: Spider-Man. And given that Brock was pretty much a smarmy, shallow jack-ass, it's hard for me to feel any sympathy for him when his precious little world came crumbling down around him.

Just my two cents. :trans:

I am forced to say Harry. He had the biggest development and really played the New Goblin well. At a very close second it would be Eddie/Venom...as I keep saying Grace was perfect.
