Best Year for Comicbook Movies

2005 also had Sin City and A History of Violence.

Good call, but I'm thinking more 'comicbooky' comicbook movies.

Then Sin City would definitely qualify.

2003 was awesome. Because of the Mega success of Spider-man the year before, you could tell things were kicking into high gear.
But 2004 was really good also. Hard for me to decide between the two.

2005, cause that's when BB came out.

2008 is going to be the best.

Wolverine
TDK
Iron Man
Hellboy 2

I know I am forgetting something else...

Hmm, I'd say 2005 with Batman Begins and Sin City (I'd say it's comic book-y enough to be included). Shame V For Vendetta was held back until the spring; it could have really been an unbelievable year.

2003 for me, LOVED both X2 and Hulk, and liked Daredevil also but thought the other 2 were crap. Every year there has been at least one excellent one though.

There's no way to be fair here. Every vote is going to be swayed by either your love of one movie or your dislike of one. Including mine. I went w/2004.

did blade and x-men come out in the same year....i have to go a while back for good years to be honest...

Negative.
Blade - 1998
Blade II - 2002
Blade Trinity - 2004

X-Men - 2000
X2 - 2003
X3 - 2006

wow, blade was a real early trend setter...

i'll have to say 2002 with the first spider-man release.

I disagree, it only looks comicbooky. It's more of a hardboiled pulp noir crime thriller thing. If Sin City was shot as a normal movie, then no-one would know it was based on a comic unless told.

Then you can't include V for Vendetta or Punisher

If anything Catwoman doesn't belong in there since it has absolutely nothing to do w/the Catwoman comics.

I disagree. Sin City's story - as well as nearly everything that happens in it - is very exaggerated and very much something you'd probably only see in a comic book.

Like Marv getting hit by a car head on, flipping through the air & landing relatively unharmed? Or Dwight jumping off the ledge & landing perfectly on the ground?

Hell, at one point, Marv got hit in the face with a sledge hammer. Half the bones in his face should've been crushed.

And didn't both Dwight & Mijo survive close-range explosions?

That type of stuff happens in regular action movies.
