Agree with you on Batman and Robin, Electra, and Cat Woman. I never heard of Steel so I guess it must be bad.

I do not agree with your selection of X-Men 3 as one of the worst comic book films. I may be in the minority on this but I think the X-Men films got better as they went. I was disappointed with the first X-Men movie because I was expecting alot more. X2 was better because of more characters and 'increased stakes.' X-Men 3, in my mind, was the best of the trilogy by far. I felt the Jean Grey-Professor X feud was one of the years best and the conclusion between Wolverine and Jean was great, reminded me of a Romance novel cover(sorry guys.)

not alot of stuff happened in xmen 3. X2 was the best

X3 > Elektra > B&R > Catwoman > Steel.

I just looked up Steel and saw who was in it. Without a doubt it is the worst.

Seems as though you forgot about Superman IV. But out of the movies I've seen on your list, I'd say Steel is the worst but Batman & Robin is godawful too.

This poll and thread are ludicrous. I cannot believe X-Men 3 is tied with Steel for worst comic book film.

which u think is worse then ?

Catwoman, at least in Batman & Robin they stuck to the comics (of the 1950's/1960's)

X3 wasn't good, but it's not unworthy enough to be on the same list as the others. The movie has plotholes like swiss cheese and cruddy workmanship but was still marginally enjoyable when I watched it. If it hadn't reverted to mindless action halfway through and actually stuck with an engaging storyline I would probably consider it more than an 'okay' film. Elektra in comparison was a borefest. I watched it from beginning to end and still had no clue what was going on. It was a shoddy mess unbefitting of the disappointing but still superior Daredevil feature film. Batman and Robin is a true unwatchable for me. Nothing worked in that film. The actors were wooden and sporting horrible dialogue, the film deviated from the source material miles from what even Burton did and is only remembered for Clooney's "gay Batman" portrayl. I can't really say much on Catwoman, as I grew so bored with it that after a few minutes of watching it on Pay-Per-View that I soon figured out people only went to see the film because of Halle Berry and changed the channel. Steel takes the heap upon all of the available options. It actually tried to make a film around Steel that had nothing to do with Superman and attempted to support its shoddy plot with the star power of Shaq. Everything about it from that approach alone was doomed for failure. I'll go out on a limb and say even Swamp Thing 2 and the Man-Thing direct-to-TV movie surpass it by miles.

One that I feel was the absolute worst, though? The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. That was one of the most pointless films I've seen in a long time, and didn't even sport the eyecandy nor the vague attempts at humor it alluded itself to being packed with.

Absolutely not. Elektra is decent, solid entertainment. It's superior to either version of Daredevil, certainly.

Same goes for X3. Yes, it was a letdown. No, that does not make it one of the worst films in the genre.

Batman & Robin, camp nonsense that it is, is atleast handled by a good director.

Catwoman is camp nonsense from a terrible director.

Steel is the worst of the lot, it's just horrible.

Haven't seen Steel. Of the ones you list, it would be a draw between Catwoman & Elektra.

No, trust me, It's Steel.:o

It really is. Steel had absolutely nothing going for it in the first place. Atleast Elektra and Catwoman had decent actresses and proper budgets. Steel is based on a comic nobody was desperate to see made into a movie. The budget was about $17m I believe, and I don't think it even made that back. It's not even seen a DVD release yet, which just indicates the extreme lack of interest in it.

It stars Shaquille O'Neal. The rest of the cast contains Judd Nelson, Richard Rountree - the guy who played Shaft, and the woman who took over from Gillian Anderson in The X-Files. During the climax, her wheelchair fires laser beams and is rocket powered. Seriously.

And it makes the unpardonable error of not being faithful to the comic. Steel is supposed to a man flying around in a suit of armour with a red cape and a huge hammer. The movie ditches the cape and the flying and turn the hammer into a gun. Er, no.

I can buy that Shaq could kick ass. I can buy Shaq in the military. I can't buy Shaq as a genius weapons inventor or a superhero. And neither can he. It's just ridiculous and everybody knows it.

They might as well have called it Steal, cause if you paid to see it, you got robbed! [/Jay Leno]

ba dum tsh!

Catwoman wasn't that much worse than a weak Smallville episode. Elektra was well, meh. Batman & Robin had camp value at least. Steel was just really bad. Though it's been awhile so many I'd find it funny watching now.

This is amazing - apparently Steel made a grand total of $1,686,429 at the box office.

I can't believe I forgot Steel's hammer-gun and Superman III/ IV. Those were travesties to film, much less the comic book medium.

I laughed aloud when I saw that figure at the Wiki. Not only is it a bad film, but it also holds a dubious record of only made up 1/16th's of it's cost. Suffice to say, I don't think anyone will be making a special edition for that film anytime soon.
